Post by: the.SET on November 09, 2008, 08:01:34 PM
I've just moved out of my parents house into an apartment of my own. Man it feels good to have a place of your own. I got cash in the bank, a nice car paid for, and my own place. Im feelin damn good right about now.  8)

are you paying for it, or are your parents?

All paid for my moi. 8)

Ladies like that you have your own place, but they dont really respect you as a man if your mom and dad pays your bills, or so I've been told.

that's why I asked

if daddy was footing the bill, you'd get no respect

are you renting or did you buy it?

congrats and welcome to the world of independence and financial freedom (that is until you spend all your money on booze and dont eat for a week)

Propz man! i've been on my own since 16 and it's been a roller coaster ride thru the 5 yrs but i can't complain..it's a big step + experience to adulthood which i don't regret making but life gets a lot tougher man, believe me..do you still have your parents supporting you in any way?? (ex. groceries, health, bills)

At least you don't have to put up with a roommate. In the first place I got, I had to clean everything and do all of the dishes. Worst decision I ever made. I didn't even get my $800 deposit back because of that asshole.

Props on moving up!

haha, true that!

When I visit my parents I usually have dinner there and take some food home. All in all that saves me about two-three times cooking per week :)

Its great but in my opinion its over rated!

Ive just moved out my flat and back home. Had to pay for rent/bills myself, its hard work and you find you have to limit nights out and shit.

Now that im home I dont really have to pay for shit, all my ££ goes on drinking and clothes :) you'd be suprised how rich you feel not having to pay rent.

I still feel young so im gona enjoy my life and after Ive finished uni and got a good job ill move out again :)

you do know the whole point of moving out (hence on your own) is to hold your own. you suppose to venture out. eye dont see the sense of moving out if your moms and pops are going to pay rent. thats a waste of money. either move back to your parents crib......... or pay for your shit own your own

yeh that really defeats the purpose of moving out ON YOUR OWN. i pay for everything myself, never ask my parents for shyt and they never offer shit and thats the way i like it.

Nah, it was a guy. I just couldn't live in that much filth, especially when I had friends and girls over fairly often. He'd let dishes stack up so high, he started just leaving them on the counter and it smelled horrible. Sometimes the girls I had over would do the dishes for me. ;D

Ok well I start at Sac St in a month and a half and I live 50 minutes away from campus, driving that far there and back 4 or 5 times a week would be obsurd, since I will be going to school full time and also working, I am not ashamed at all that my parents will be helping with rent

ooo i feel u then..i had the same prob when i first moved out but we both let the dishes pile up lol..that place was a mess anyway though w/ mice & ant problems especially during the summer...not to mention, my roommate was annoying as fuck..he'd rarely flush the toilet after taking shits wtf?? + he'd intentionally blast the music at 6am almost everyday before leaving for work so i'd have to get my ass up n turn it off..he was a good friend but a strange muthafucka >:(
