dude is a monster-27- plus right now. DOes anyone else find it completely fucked up that he has next to no post-up game??? With his inconsistent shooting from the outside, wouldn't it make sense to post him up once in awhile? Once he has a post-up game, its OVER. He's just too big, strong and quick. He has the physical tools to be the best 4 man in the NBA.......

LBJ is killing it right now, but this shit is just ridiculous. How many other dudes in the NBA have ever dunked from the free-throw line??? (yes, he went over, but so did Jordan and all the dudes who did the dunk in the dunk competetion)
-
he definatly has the talent and size to have a sick post up game. LBJ is going to break a shit laod of records by the time hes finished playing.

It probably has something to do with Mike Brown being the worst offensive coach in the history of the game. Whenever you have to go for a game-winner, it's LeBron standing 18 or 19 feet away, running down the clock, stepping back and jacking up a fade-away, with the rest of the team just being there.
-
Good question. Dude's obviously a beast physically and could probably develop a pretty good post up game. Don't ask me why he hasn't...

I don't think Mike Brown is the problem. I mean LeBron does whatever the fuck he wants, you can't even coach him. You give him the ball, and he creates something. If he doesn't post up it's cause he probably doesn't like it, and he still prefeer to dunk or to take some fadeway jumpers. You have to be a "Phil Jackson" type of coach (i'm talking about his curriculum) to really talk to him and to force him to change his game, and Brown obviously isn't. He's just a puppet.

How doesn't this make Mike Brown the problem? A coach is supposed to coach, not to tell his star player "do whatever the fuck you want, you make 10 times the money I do and got 10000 times the fame that I do, it's an honor to spend time with you." When you have such a lousy puppet as your coach, it's no wonder that you don't elevate your game as much. LeBron just never has been coached properly. Kobe has. Jordan has. LeBron clearly hasn't. Not even in college. He came straight to the NBA and has had poor coaches ever since. That's a major obstacle in his evolution as a player.
-
Interestingly enough, the title explains it all. He doesn't post up because he hasn't worked on improving his game. He always has been and always will be a slam dunk MVP.

We are saying the same thing. :)

It's simple...LeBron doesn't post up because he CANT. Dude's fucking overrated. Size and power doesn't equal talent. Sure, LeBron will end his career as a great player, but not an all-time great. That dunk from the free throw line was vicious, though.

LOL, hes the second best player in the league behind Kobe, i mean i know you dont like sheer power, size, strength, but he single handedly took at team to the finals like 2 seasons ago by himself...
did Kobe, do that by himself? :D

Kobe is in a class of his own...as far as LeBron being 2nd best, that's debatable. I already acknowledged LeBron's strengths, do you even get what the fuck I'm saying? Seriously?
LeBron got a free ride to the Finals in the garbage ass east and then got man-handled by a real team once he got there...and no, he didn't do it alone, Cleveland has always had one of the best team defenses in the league. LeBron still choked on a consistant basis...PeACe

i am putting Kobe in a class all his own, he beat the Pistons (good team) though. lol, obviously the east is weak but he still took them to the finals & yes by himself, weather he had D or not, he was the first & second option on offense, then Big Z was the 3rd lol.
your exact words were "Dude's fucking overrated. Size and power doesn't equal talent." HIS TALENT IS HIS SIZE AND POWER! averages 30, 7 & 7 a game with his size and power. hes a freak of nature build & it takes a lot to stop him.

thats not a talent, that's a gift...he's physically gifted...if he were as talented as Kobe or Jordan, he'd be the greatest thing to ever play ball, but he ain't.

That was by far the easiest path to the finals ever.
1st round - Wizards (without Arenas, without Butler)
2nd round - Nets (featuring Vince Quitter Carter)
3rd round - Pistons (watered down version of the Pistons with Chris Webber as the starting C, lmao)
I don't think he's the 2nd best player anymore. I'd say Kobe's first. Chris Paul is 2nd. 3rd is possibly Howard. Hell even Wade > Lebron.

don't get the hate for LBJ from Kobe fans, except that i guess its the same when you all were hating on Nash. Whats funny is numbers (when Kobe was putting them u in a major way) were all that matter before, but not they don't mean shit right?
Kobe #1
Lebron #2
CP#3
And to you guys who think LBJ isn't on Kobe's ass, you are fucking kidding yourselves.
Kobe will get a few titles in the next few years (or at least he better- after all, Bynum IS the best center in the league so no excuses boys) but trust that Lebron will get his too.
EIther way, both of them boys got KILLED in the finals the first time they led their respective teams there......the difference being Lebron was 22 and his team had no business being there in the first place. The Lakers, if I remember correctly (especiually from guys ion this board) were an overwhelming favourite and got destroyed in the clincher, one of the worst displays in a finals game ever.
And Kobe is the dude who ya'll believe is better than MJ? I think LBJ is the only one who will ever challenge that.........of course, that is merely speculation, as is saying the Lakers will go 82-0 just because they are 7-0 right now ::)
-
^The difference between Kobe and LeBron losing in the Finals is that Kobe's team let Kobe down by choking, while LeBron let his team down by choking...if you watched both, you'd know what I'm talking about. LMAO@LeBron having a better chance at challenging Jordan for GOAT than Kobe does...Classic. :D

NIK, we both know Kobe was only merely average in the finals last year, a shadow of what we all expected. His team didn't play well, but he also looked very mortal......i expected so much more from kobe in that finals, and even bet a hundred on the lakers because kobe had made me a believer......................loser

Hey man, if you read what i fucking wrote, you will notice i never once said Kobe was the "problem" as I would hate to hurt your feelings, or bruise your very fragile ego that is inexplicably tied to Kobe for some reason????
All i said was Kobe was average? Fuck the reasons, was he average in your opinion? He did NOT rise to the level we all expected, and I don't see why you can't admit that and put some blame on him, after all he is part of the team, the biggest part, but you act like ghe played all world when Kobe himself would admit he played only average
-
^cmon man, you know NIK is right.
look at every NBA thread, dude is a genius. he is always right and always wrong.
i mean the -2,000,000 karma is surely from all the people who think hes crazy & dont agree on ANY of his views, but in his world hes the greatest analyst alive, so let him be.

how was he gunna play above average when his teammates were underperforming? does your ass know ANYTHING about the triangle offense? come on, now...the system is designed to fail if even ONE of the pieces to the puzzle malfunction. every single player on the court needs to be working together in order for the triangle to be succesful, and that didn't happen in last years Finals...blaming Kobe for that is the dumbest thing you can do...PeACe

Wasn't the topic about LeBron James?
yea... but everyone likes comparing players to Kobe nowadays, considering he's the current example of what a basketball player should be. just like people were comparing all the newcoming players to Jordan back when he was in his prime.
-
The fact is that LeBron is a SF. And this year he's playing some minutes as a PF too (like he did in China). He's not comparable to Kobe. Really. Even phisically, the dude is 6-8 x 250 lbs... way more powerful and phisically gifted than Kobe... Like i said, i'm curious to see him playing PF more, this season. I think that's where he wants to play more (he can take more offensive rebounds and he can share the ball better from that position, increasing his stats), and i think he can have a good impact there. But c'mon, Kobe is a totally different type of player.
-
His profiles say 245 but that is outdated as hell. I'd say he's about 263, he's a complete beast.

Yeah dude is really like 6'9, 260, with insane quickness for his side. He definitely has the size to play PF but he has zero post skills. Dude is on the perimeter more than most point guards. Melo would be better at the 4 cuz he loves to go in the post and take that 15 foot jumper.

Kobe>>>>>Lebron>>Wade.
Kobe outshines everybody, but LeBron is 2nd. Wade at his best is close to LeBron on his 35 7 & 7 nights. but Lebron at his best (like 45 10 & 12) only thing keeping LeBron out of Kobe's league is the fact the Lakers have so much depth on there roster, imo.

LeBron's stats wouldn't look nearly as nice on a team that doesn't have the ball in his hands for 99% of the offense.

Thanks Captain Obvious. You say shit like that like it should be a revelation to us. But dude, you can't have it both ways-----
Just like Kobe's stats wouldnt have been as nice a couple of seasons ago when he went for 35 a game. That is how bball works. Once LBJ gets a team around him, his stats will go down and the Cavs will start to win. Oh wait, somehow they have won 8 in a row, and last time I checked, the East has won 65% of the head-to head matchups against the west........
-
I can't stand Nik's shit anymore... I'll leave it at that
-
wade on the USA team > Lebron
wade is more skilled.
-
Wade is a demon out there! Yes I said demon. 27 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assist, nearly 3 steals, and nearly 2 blocks a game.
-
I can't stand Nik's shit anymore... I'll leave it at that
that's cuz you're too sensitive to handle people opinions if they're different than yours...bad look, Mavs fan.

What I'm saying is that people wouldn't think LeBron was as good if he wasn't playing 1-on-1 and running the bulk of the plays all the time...no way he'd be this overrated playing in the triangle offense.
-
Wade at his best had very complete stats ... this year he's very impressive aswell and he's way more clutch than Lebron ... he's been a lil forgotten because of injuries and his shitty team record... but Lebron-Wade is very debatable ... no way Melo should be up in the discussion , he's a very good player but not great ... I'd take Pierce over Melo anyday of the week .. when it comes to rank SG and SF :
1. Kobe
2. LBJ and Wade
4. Pierce
5. Melo
then you have a bunch of very good players as Gino, Allen , Artest; VC , ect ..

that's cuz you're too sensitive to handle people opinions if they're different than yours...bad look, Mavs fan.
Not at all, I never had a problem with niggas like Antonio and them. Baby G can piss a nigga off as he tends to get belligerent. But overall I never have problems with a niggas opinion here. You're something else, though.
instead of fussing about it like a little girl, try discrediting what I say...everything I've said in this thread has been legit. don't get mad cuz players get overrated and you simple minded basketball fans feed into it.

So some players are overhyped, yet you saying Kobe is better than Jordan is not overhyping Kobe? Again, abiout results, lets look at Kobe once he has LEAD his team to a title and has a few playoff MVP's. He will never ever touch Jordan stat wise (assists, boards, steals, blocks....Jordan was too good overall) on a career basis so really, its all about palyoff results and it looks as though Kobe is on the cusp of making his mark as a leader in the playoffs. Of course, it looked that way last year as well and we didn't exactly see a Jordan-worthy performance in the finals did we?
I admit certain players are overhyped, but noone overhypes players more than YOU (ahem....Bynum).........

niggas have been discrediting your absurd claims for endless pages since years... there's just no end to it. i'm fed up with this bullshit.

In my opinion, saying Kobe is better than Jordan is NOT overhyping Kobe, cuz I truly do believe he is the more skilled individual...it's a valid claim that the coach of both players has made himself in the past. None of my claims are absurd, I watch the games and come up with my own opinions and conclusions...I don't let the media run my mind like you muuufuckaz who read box scores and watch ESPN, but couldn't play a game of organized basketball if your life depended on it.

So you're dissing niggas with that last line, yet we are also the sensitive niggas who can't handle a different opinion, huh?

NIK, you actually played on a team? Didn't realize that. And what makes you so sure that the rest of us don't ball or never have. Played college ball in Canada (not the greatest ball but we beat a few DIV 3 teams in exhibitions) and I coach now...........how about you? I'm not saying I am great or anything, but I've BEEN involved in bball forever.

I would have to agree. But on my list Wade is 2nd and Lebron is 3rd.

Going back to the original topic, the more i watch the Cavs, the more I see LBJ playing the post. About fucking time.
Great article about the Cavs on Slamonline.com, where it looks at their vastly improved offense.
A quote from the article:
"He’s been off-the-charts effective when put at the four, where he spends about half as much time as he does at the three–his per-48 minute stats at the four-spot are (this is not a typo) 50/11/9 on 60 percent shooting"
Lebron should be a four man- he;s massive, would be a great passer from the block or high post, can board well, etc. He could truly be an amazing post player......its nice that Cleveland has some real guard talent now (Williams) to allow him to do so for 10 or so mins a game.

Yes...I've been playing organized ball my whole life. I'm not 100% sure that the rest of you haven't, but the criteria some of you guys use to judge basketball shows me that some of ya'll don't know a lot about the game. "AMARE SCORES MORE THAN BYNUM, HES WAYYYYY BETTER!" Just stupid shit like that...PeACe

NIK, i think, in general, most people view sports, and LIFE, with regards to RESULTS. So far, Bynum hasn't played even a complete season at an adequate level, let alone a good level (which Amare and Howard have), hence the shock when you say Bynum is better. Potentially Bynum could be very good, we will have to wait and see. As of now, there are at least 5 post players that bring more to their respective teams then him. I do have to say that is a perfect fit for the Lakers now, as they dont need him scoring, they just need his defense. But could you really see him being the MAIN offensive weapon on a team?

have you ever thought that some people judge a player based on how good he actually performs and not how much he's accomplished? Bynum, playing his best basketball (which he hasn't been able to do this season), looks better on the court than Dwight playing his best basketball. They're not in the same situation, so we can't compare them by numbers. WATCH them playing against eachother and tell me if you see a huge disparity. I saw it last year when Bynum faced them head-to-head, and we'll see again this year. And to answer your question, I could EASILY see Bynum being the main offensive weapon on a team. Bynum is a BEAST. He has everything...a soft touch around the basket, but still dunks with authotirity, mad boosties, back-to-the basket game, defensive anchor. B-E-A-S-T...PeACe
