As I near the end of World at War I'm wondering what game to pick up next. The last game I played and really loved on PS3 was Bioshock, so I like the idea of another creepy shooter that mixes action and atmosphere. Dead Space and Resistamnce 2 both look good to me, and both have received generally positive reviews. Would anyone here who has played both be able to recommend one particularly highly over the other?

Dead Space.
Resistance 2, as far as level design and conceptually in general, is a game from five years back.

Yeah, sorry, should have said 8 years ;D
I had more fun playing that crappy game called Haze. Resistance 2 is a corridor shooter, only problem is - it mostly takes place outside.
Every level is designed like a corridor - whether it's street fighting in a small town, a military base, a warehouse, etc.
It's 2008, level design evolved past the "here's a forest but you can only use the path that is 10 feet wide" era.
You have to give me at least the ILLUSION that I have a choice, even if all the paths I can choose from lead to the same exit.

DEAD to the FUCKIN" SPACE....word up.

dead space is fuckin incredible. The graphics are awesome, the level design is one of the most detailed. It is what doom 3 should have been, a really scary good looking game. I must admit that the design of the monsters is not my cup of tea but there's enough blood and gore to scare you the fuck off. I recommand playing the game on a hd tv, with surround sound, late at night, with all the lights down
