Move Aside, LeBron, Chris Bosh Wants the MVP
From the Toronto Sun:
“I want to get it. Plain and simple,” Bosh said. “That’s really where I’m at right now. Every game I’m trying to be an MVP-calibre player. I’ve been sharing that with my family, I haven’t shared it with you guys yet but now you know — but I came into this season saying I’m going to give it a shot.”
“I think I can get it. We need more wins of course but when I think of MVPs in the past I think of consistency. Every night they put it out there on the floor and when they need it, they put their teams on their backs. They’re valuable so that’s what I’m trying to be. A valuable asset to this team.”
Does Bosh have a chance? He IS killing it this year, and if the Raptors can get to the level many expected them to be at, he may have a chance. Definitely will be top 5.
As of now, I would say Lebron is the favourite to win the MVP with the way the Cavs are playing and how valuable he is to his team. Kobe isn't being mentioned a lot this year because his numbers are down, but I feel he should (and will) be up there for MVP consideration. Of course, the award is MVP to the player's team, and the Lakers are STACKED (Damn they are going to be hard to stop if they keep things up on the defensive end)
-
Bosh has been the MVP so far in my opinion. 27 & 10; killin' shit.
-
.500? Not the team of an MVP in my book. He needs to lead his team to a more successful season in order to come close to James. Calibre is fair, though.
-
Howard
-
Howard is looking good, especially on the defensive end. HOw about Chris Paul? Two triple doubles last week, leads the league in steals, is averaging 12 plus assists, and over 5 boards a game. His stat line is ridiculous.
-
Obviously CB4 is not the MVP of this season. And the reason is simple: they give it to people who lead their team to one of the top-5 records in the whole NBA, usually. At least now it's what they use to do. So... sorry CB4, not this year. I don't think so.
-
^you know the Cavs are 2nd in the east, nigga?
MVP calibres:
LeBron>Paul>Howard>Bosh>Duncan
Bryant got it last year, leave it to other people who never had it and are good as hell
-
imma go with cp3 this season, he's killin em lately... cb4 will be a top 5 though, but the raptors need to step their game up before he can become a serious candidate for a top 3 spot
-
his team aint good enuff
-
Its going to go to the star of the team with one of the best records. I predict CP3 will snatch this one. If it were to go to the player having the best season regardless of team record I would give it to D-Wade. Dude has been on fire since the Olympics.

So you're saying he's more Dirk Nowitzki than Shaq in terms of actual worth as far as MVPs go?
-
Kobe...still the best player in the league leading the best team in the league. 8)
(for the stat fanatics who don't actually watch games, his line will go up after he has one of his crazy yearly outbursts of consecutive 40+ point games.)
-
right now this would be my top 5,
1. Lebron
2. Kobe
3. C. Paul
4. D. Howard
5.C. Bosh
-
bosh has the talent

You know how it works, don't you? Remember when Kobe was beasting and people keep saying Lakers weren't good enought?
-
Kobe is STILL my MVP tho. He's playing even better than last year. Impressing.
-
right now the MVP's are :
1. Lebron/Kobe
2. Dwight Howard
3. Billips
4. CP3
5. Bosh
-
i think Wade deserves it so far but Bosh is a good candidate too

5. Bosh
Billups? ???
how ya figure...interesting choice lol.
-
It all depends on season wins. Will the Raptors win 50-60 games? I think Chris Paul is going to take it.

I don't understand the question... are you trying to piss me off or something?!

LOL, seriously. "Billips" isn't even the MVP of his team, let alone the league.

hmmmmmm him on the Nuggets has made the nuggets contenders instead of 8th seed underachievers. sorry he doesn't average 28 points and shit.
-
so far it has to be LeBron James, I can't imagine anyone really being a close 2nd

they're not contenders. they'll win around 50 games, like last year... Billups is not an MVP caliber player, period.
-
1. you watch the houston game tonight?
2. and i'm not alone...

I will be extremely surprised if Billups gets any MVP votes.
-
Billups is not THAT good, it's more that Iverson is a sucker. That trade definitely made the Nuggets better, and with Portland being obviously better this year, we have 9 playoff teams in the west. Sucks for Dallas? :-X
-
^yea...Denver was better with Andre Miller than they were with Iverson. Does that make Andre Miller an MVP candidate too? LOL.

Nope, but still Billups > Miller > Iverson playing PG for an offensive team who already have Melo as the top scorer.
