Been a while since i bumped this album, but it's playin right now. The EP was way doper then the album. "Jealousy" is a classic though, that beat is so dope.
"Calico" is great too, "Throw Back Muzic 86", "Stalkin" and a few other tracks are good too. What's does everybody think about this album?
-
for me it was one of the best releases of the year, i really liked the chemistry between kurupt and mark sparxx, dude made some insane beats.
allways have time for this album, a true banger!
-
My favorite tracks are; Jealousy, Tha Past, Calico, It's A Wrap & You Fucking With The Best.
Solid album.

Yeah, that EP was a killer. Been a while since I listened to those cd's too, gonna do it now. If I remember right on the album version there were some wack cuts that I skipped but overall it was ok album.

EP Is Solid!

Against Tha Grain was dope as hell - still bumpin it till this day... too bad Death Row couldn't release it in OG form and promote it properly :(
Anyway I made my own version of how this album supposed to be:
01. Intro
02. Speak On It (feat. Val C)
03. Anarchy '87
04. Throw Bacc Muzik '86
05. Deep Dishes
06. U Don't Know Who U Fuckin' Wit' (feat. Kokane)
07. Against Tha Grain (feat. Eastwood & Y.A.)
08. Jealousy (feat. Roscoe & M.O.P.)
09. Tha Past (feat. Dave Hollister)
10. My Homeboys [Back To Back] (feat. 2Pac & Eastwood)
11. I Didn't Change
12. Calico (feat. Dayton Family)
13. No Vaseline Part II
14. One Thang's Fo' Sho (feat. Danny Boy)
15. Hustlin' (feat. Big Tri & Young Tone)
16. Holocause 3000 [Death Row Symphony] (feat. Eastwood & Gail Gotti)
17. Eat A Dicc [Fuck Daz] (feat. Eastwood)
BTW - has anyone heard about Kurupt & Death Row shooting a video for "Throw Back Muzik"?
-
bitch eat a dick and beat it or beat a dick and eat it hahahaha!classic line by kurupt lol
-
I had the album in constant rotation that year, real good project. Still bump it from time to time.
YoungThug23, you know that some of the tracks on the version you made were from "The Originals" album. Were they actually intended for ATG at one time? I thought "Calico" was added later too, since it is actually on the Dayton Family album.

man throw bacc muzik was 1 of the 1st rap songs & kurupt song i ever heard, to me its a classic trak.
yh i love the album too, stalking is a gd trak too, produced by sir jinx.
-
I think this album bumps! Nothing is as cool as angry Kurupt, and he sure was pissed on this one! I know why people long for the smooth Kurupt of yesteryear, but that flow seems to only show up on old school g-funk tracks, which aren't really getting play anymore.
-
Still Never Got A Chance To Bump This.... >:(

Really? I figured you were a Kurupt fan from way back...
-
I bought the album back when it dropped and was disappointed but it did have it's share of dope tracks on it, if the EP tracks were left on in place of some of the album's final tracks it would have been a lot better overall... I would give that album about a 3.5/5 8)

Yea, I know that bro. I used to bump "Originals" when it came and was exiciting as hell thinking "if some of these songs are ATG leftovers than ATG must be bangin" 8)
-
"Originals" was a huge disappointment although it did have a few hot tracks like, "Final Testament", "I Didn't Change" & "Eat A Dicc (Fucc Daz)"
-
"Real talk" and "everyday life" are unreleased songs from this MF album!!!!!

Anyone think the DPG version was the best ?
I like both equally I think. Each had it's own style. I'd say the DPG one gets a lot of points because it's got some classic collabos, but I love the anger on the Death Row one too, LOL.

It was a cool album. I agree though if they would have kept it OG like it was supposed to be it would have been crazy.
