To all my non-console peoples, GTA IV dropped on PC today! Whaddayathink?
-
I'm still in the middle of Far Cry 2. Plus I'm heading back home for the holidays on Saturday, which means I won't be playing anything for a while.
But I'll definately peep it when I first get the chance. I've heard mostly good things about the console version, so it's definately an interesting title. The requirements aren't too crazy either.
Just hope there aren't any killing bugs. Rockstar's post-release support for their PC titles has been extremely weak in the past.

apparently there are performance issues and glitches galore. beware! some people with silly fast set-ups have been reporting it not running so quick...
-
Fuck it I don't get it, atleast not now. Fuck that DRM/Securom bs, apart from that, the system requirements are crazy if you ask me, and I read on several forum it runs very bad even on good systems. Last but not least, the game disappointed me anyway with the weak mission design, annoying characters, a boring story and a weak soundtrack.
I wait for GTA V, maybe I'll get a console until then so I can play it from day 1, I hope Rockstar learns the lesson and make it better next time.

Seems like I jinxed it. There's so many bugs, installation problems and performance issues that they're even offering refunds for the Steam version (a first for Steam games, I think). Gaming PC's that run Crysis smoothly with everything set to max won't run GTA properly with everything set to low. That's just a bad, bad, bad port job from the console version.
Good thing I still got almost half of Far Cry 2 to play. (It's a looong game.)

apparently some modest pcs's are good with it. from what i read performance is extremely varied and maybe even random across different set-ups. if people with monster systems built for gaming are having problems then there's definitely some major coding flaws. i'd expect to be able to run it smoothly with my ati 4850 but i already got the game on 360 anyway...

daam, i dont read gaming forums and shit, so thanks for the heads up!

atleast with pc you can try before you buy. get a cracked copy and play it for free, see how performance is. then if its ok maybe buy a legit copy, maybe dont. apart from people who wanna do multiplayer...
