Title: Juande Ramos is the new Real Madrid coach

Real Madrid are set to sack coach Bernd Schuster today and replace him with former Tottenham boss Juande Ramos, according to reports in Spain.


Speculation suggests sporting director Pedja Mijatovic is to hold a meeting with club president Ramon Calderon to discuss the managerial change.

Schuster has been hanging onto his job by an ever-thinning thread in recent weeks with the Spanish champions currently fifth in the Primera Liga, nine points behind bitter rivals Barcelona who they face in El Clasico on Saturday.

The Madrid board have given Schuster several votes of confidence but Sunday's morale-crushing 4-3 home defeat to Sevilla looks like it could have been the final straw.

Reports suggest that Ramos could be in charge by the afternoon training session in the Spanish capital, scheduled for 5pm, and lead the team in tomorrow night's Champions League clash against Zenit St Petersburg.

The former Sevilla coach has been without a job since leaving Tottenham Hotspur in October, following the Premier League club's worst ever start to the season.

Was Schuster sacked or did he go?

Let's see how Ramos does this time. Hope he has the same success as he had with the Spurs.

Yeah, he was sacked. I hope that Juande Ramos doesn't want to have the great Demy de Zeeuw in his selection.

What the fuck? Doesnt it strike anyone as crazy that someone who spent millions and millions to take a team to the bottom of the league and eventually a sacking, can just stroll into the Madrid job? I swear to god i think Madrid's presidents are on crack sometimes...
