I never thought I would forget about any of my live television performances..
but I just ran across this video and I totally forgot about it until I just saw it!

I loved this song. This song brought the west back to the east. I remember the west was getting no love after Pac died here in NYC, but this song broke a lil ice. The radio was killing it. Far as I can remember, the air play was crazy in nyc on this. Flex was killing it.

also during that period, I was the only Westcoast artist (other than Snoop) to get national airplay..
The industry was even difficult to crack at (that) time..
so I'm sure you now understand why it's more beneficial to avoid the mainstream!

I ain't gonna lie it was a good look for the West. NYC received that song well. I know for a fact being on them nyc streets. I felt good for the west at that time cause that pac & Death row thing cause put a black cloud on the west for a second. Yall did you thing with that, homie.
IN fact, I can say you brought the west back that year, homie. For real! not just something to say egotistically on record, but it did that year. Should be proud.

Hopefully you can repeat this type of success in the future. You need some more bangers like this these days. You need to get back to working with people like DJ Quik, Kurupt, Nate Dogg, etc....that's what made your first album so big (and work with Soopafly too :).

I gotta be honest Shade I've always been a big fan of West Coast hip hop and heavy into rap the last 10 years of my life (only 21 now) and I've never listened to a full album of yours. Don't think I've ever heard one of your tracks play over here in New Zealand either, except for that Dre knocturnal remix although "Where I Wanna Be" brought back memories from somewhere. What was your first album? This threads got me interested in checking out your discog. Good shit...

loved this song, still do. everytime i put it on it made me feel good, i could be having the worst day but this song was just great. it might not get a lot of recognition, but that album was great, John Doe with Quik, Wake Up with Nate. i remember playing it to my friends who are not rap fans, next thing u know everybody around school is singing that chrous, even my old man was singing it
