young boss 1 was what REALLY got me hooked on crooked....i loved the death row days but YB1 had me convinced hes the dopest rapper alive

It was basically the start of Crook transitioning into a more well round artist. I mean, Crook always had incredible songs like "Nobody Understands Me", but he really came into his own after dropping YB1.

yeah, he showed he was more "socially conscious" i guess you can say. 

his verse on Still Dre is probably the best verse he ever did, and that's hard for me to say since i LOVE the "my life" tracks
