I never expected Xzibit to do multi-platinum. Restless however did 1.5 million in the U.S. alone which was great for a West Coast MC during that time period. He then had two more gold albums which was pretty good considering their singles didn't get much airplay other than "Multiply". He is up there with Cube, Snoop and Game in terms of popularity when it comes to West Coast rappers.

i think he did to some extent. The only west coast rappers doing plat at the time were Dre, Snoop and Cube so for Xzibit to do those numbers was pretty big. Snoop wasn't selling anymore than that and he too had the backing of Dre and the whole Up in Smoke Tour. I think Xzibit did pretty well for himself.

Tbh the only reason someone like The Game was able to sell soo many records with the Documentary was cause of the whole gunit fad. Xzibit did have the whole 2001 hype to help his sales but i think he was overshadowed by the popularity of Eminem at the time.

Game didn't really sell that much more than Xzibit either. Game did 2 million in U.S. sales, XZ did bout 1.5..not that far off..

in the early 2000's i think Xzibit and Tha Eastsidaz were the only West Coast artists not named Snoop or Cube selling at least gold or platinum...

in the later years Westside Connection were able to go gold with Terrorist THreats and then Game came onto the scene but for the early 2000's Xzibit was a big star

I think you can say he blew up when he is on MTV's Pimp My Ride and other Tv shows, hosted award shows, sold a few million records, was part of the biggest rap tour ever and had the most dre & eminem features than anyone outside aftermath and snoop dogg

The jonas brother sell alot of albums does that mean I should like them? I ain't mad at him either but "at the speed of life" is the only album I bought and kept because it's fire. I bought "restless" and can't remember if I still have it or if I swaped it at the used cd store. It only had 3 tracks I liked 2. Front 2 Back  6. Alkaholik (featuring Erick Sermon, J-Ro &Tash of Tha Liks) (Explicit) & 14. Get Your Walk On (Explicit).

I doubt I will ever buy anothe X album again.... But I'll still bump "AT THE SPEED OF LIFE" & those 3 tracks.

he's finacially comfortable

internationally known

gets tv and movie work and tours worldwide

so yes he has blown up...the thread title wasnt "why didnt xzibit sell more copies than everyone else in 2000??"..for me blowin up is everyone knowing who you are and being fincially stable for the rest of your life...sales is just a part of that...shit if he bring out an album with some t-pain,akon,timberlake and sells a bunch will he have then blown up in your eyes??

cus in my eyes he will have just sold out when it wasnt necessary
