I ain't a fan (neutral) but why aren't we showing them love? I was just sitting back watching the game with them and the Hornets on right now (great game thus far) and started thinking about it.
There record is only 1 game worse than the Lakers (who gets all the love - I ain't even talkin' on here, analyst wise). That's a cool fact.
Dwight Howard is leading the league in Rebounds and Blocks and is averaging over 20PPG. With a still developing arsenal of moves, he is still dominating and that's all that really matters. If he ever develops some better moves around the basket and becomes a bit better FT shooter, he's gonna be even scarier. Plus his footwork has improved this year.
Hedo Turkoglu is still that dude, can go off at any time and is clutch in the 4th quarter. Rashard Lewis can be said the same things, and both these guys can score at will and nail the 3 quite efficiently.
The big question here was the point guard posistion. Well Nelson is playing the best basketball of his career, is really having a tremendous season. He is proving he really can be the leader many thought he would be in College.
Plus they got some great role players on this team (Pietrus).
Another impressive stat is can't nobody come here and talk about them playing in the Eastern Conference - They've played their last 10 games against Western Conference teams and have won 9 of them. Game #11 (of 12 in total - that's crazy) is on right now and it looks like it's about to be 10/11 wins in games (all in a row) against western conference teams.
The only stat that bothers me about them is as a team, they are last in the league in FT%. That could hurt them down the stretch and in close games come playoff time.
Discuss.

orlando > LA

orlando > LA
LOL keep telling yourself that. But Orlando is looking pretty damn good, I can see them having a good playoff run this year.

didn't they beat LA last week? :D
about the same record....just 1% of the hype
id say my top 5 teams are boston, cleveland, orlando, LA and portland/denver
-
they're a good team and have a great record ... thing is they live and die with the 3 ball .. that's why you cannot consider em in the same class as the C's , Cavs and Lakers in a long term perspective ..
-
they are absolutely slapping the hornets right now
-
its cuz they have the best center in the NBA! ;) 8)

only a crackhead would say someone else (not named Yao) is a better center than Howard

Yao ain't better either though; nobody is. I know y'all trying to get Nik in here lol, I ain't tryna start no shit, let's not turn this into a 5 page argument thread..i'm personally just stating my opinion.

nobody else does

I guess; I still say Howard > Yao

A healthy Yao is not an argument, it's an oxymoron. I'm tired of excuses for players who are simply injured all the time. Injury is a part of them, not rare bad luck or anything. It's a part of their game, basically. Notice how many players play close to 80 games throughout their whole career, while others are injured all the time.

not gunna lie, Bosh is HELLA close; if not better...

That's the argument that I'd make. Howard is a complete beast physically but Bosh is more of an all around player.

I'm from T.O. and Bosh is 1 of my favorite players, but Howard man-handled him last year 1st round playoffs. Bosh couldn't defend him (although Bosh also had a positive series offensively).

my thoughts exactly. ;)

Lmao, Bosh may have that bullshit ass skillset that people fall in love with so much, but he got fucked up last playoffs by Howard and he would get fucked up again if only his sorry ass team would make the playoffs. And his players are not even that bad. Go figure.
-
bosh is a great player but he's not Howard level.
bosh is more of a power forward to me, a bit too skinny to be a center. needs to gain some mo weight.
-
sorry, but Bosh>Dwight.
Bosh shitted on Dwight in their last head-to-head matchup-
Bosh: 40 points, 18 rebounds
Dwight: 18 points, 9 rebounds

As for Orlando, they're a good team...not on the elite level quite yet, though.

Offensively, Bosh had a FANTASTIC series.

This year they have improved alot defensively which is a plus for them once the playoffs start, but I still think they are at least one player away from really taking that next step.

you are probably right, I just put this together based off some strong facts and points I gathered. Just a lil' something for discussion. They are relatively solid.

No doubt. When they are on from 3 and the perimeter they are a tough out for anyone.

ok, i personally feel this year the magic are getting no where near the attention they deserve which could well be a blessing in disguise. theyve started the season brilliantley and are quietley upto 2nd in the east with a brilliant away record and decent showings against the leagues top teams. orlando are probabley going to improve on last years 50 wins and this year should have the homecourt in the 2nd round which will certainley help.
what i like about the magic is that weve kept the nucleus together and worked on the assumption that another year together will improve the team collectivley. i think were playing great ball since weve moved courtney lee into the starting lineup and i think nelson has improved his jumper a whole lot. and its also been impressive how we have been playing so well of late when howard hasnt had to dominate, i know his still putting up the numbers but at the start of the season he was awsome.
what are your thought? and are the magic contenders? or do they still have alot to prove?

the Magic are good.
but dont have all the componets for a ring yet.
Dwight is only getting better & is probably the best center in the league.
i can see them competeting with the Cavs & have a decent shot at the Eastern Confrence Finals.
but they couldnt handel Boston & forgot about the Lakers.
