Live fell off the year after they put in the "All-Star Weekend" thing in; it just got old & the 2K series just improved GREATLY! 8)

i remember i liked it the first year it had the dunk contest; but then it was nothing special.

my homie had 2k9, and i played it and i was better at live 08. only good thing about 09 live is lil bit faster game play with less lag.

not talking about gameplay,

loading times are a lil faster in 09 and theres no lag during halftime (dunno if 2k9 fixed that)

Live has been trying to emulate 2k in many ways for years and fails miserably every time. If you're actually into basketball at all, 2k is the way to go. If you dont know shit and just wanna run around and be a fag then Live is for you.
