"ROME": music producer and rapper
This kat and Nipsey Hussle are my predictions to make it big in 09.
Some of ya'll know ROME for his music production w/ Omar Cruz on all his mixtapes but this dude came out as a rapper and his shit is dope.
Not your typical shit, just some dope on the grind shit.

If you look on Dubcnn they've already done features on him. So yea.. most people know him here. Dude is cool. I have that mixtape or whatever of his.. need to give it a listen again.

yea Im talking bout hungry in a good way. yea Ive been following ROME as a producer with his other produced albums, but his rhyming skills is nice. I think the westcoast is missing them new kats cuz we've been talking bout the same rappers for a minute now.

I don't think we are missing many of the new dudes here on dubcnn at least.. Dubcnn pushes alot of new dudes all the time and if you look at the post Luna made about C'Nyle. That's a dude we just found on Myspace. I think the industry and mainstream are missing out on alot of the new guy's. But us fans that frequent this site are not so much.. I will say that there are a few that dubcnn posts info about that their music and thread gets pasted by by everyone. But there's still alot of new artists that we check out everyday on here.
Sadly though.. everyone is stuck on all the old artists from the west.. even me to some extent.. and until we get past them I don't think the new artists will get their shine.

I dont think everyone is too stuck in the past not to move on anymore. its just that nothing is moving out there like that (for good reason). mixtape artist like the majority that comes from California are just following trends (easy to understand) but most lack in diversity of content. None want to branch out into the other parts of the WestCoast/SouthWest/MidWest bcuz its not "gangsta" enough if it doesnt come str8 from California its self. The south branched out and did it right, the East (NY) and West (Cali) just stayed in one spot the whole time. I think its just a new artists' fear that if they dont come off like that the past image or have any ties to somethin' like tha old West/California then it wont be accepted (which is so fuckin' false). Hip Hop needs to bridge the gap commercially, business wise, and socially/ And find a new way... then folx will start to be intrested again.

I agree that Nipsey & Rome are defently 2 new westcoast artist that will make some good noise this year. What I like is that they both have diffrent styles & defently a fresh new sound that the west is missing. Looking forward to hearing some more music from Nipsey & Rome.

When they say hungry i think they are speaking about his lyrics & how he come from nothing. It don't matter if you got connects in the music biz if you ain't got the skills people don't care . He defently better then a lot of these west coast rappers that rap about the same shit (low riders,gang bangin, & slanging dope) what's worse with your typical west coast artist is that more then 50% of them are not what they rap about. So defently respect homie for being him. Looking forward to some more music.
