I've been meaning to do this for about 3 years lol. Ever since I moved out of parents house my CD's have been in boxes and I have been neglecting them. So they're all on my external hd now, and I'm just gonna put the cd's in the closet. It took about 2 weeks to do them all. It's so convenient to have them all right at your fingertips tho. I wish I would have done it sooner.
Now I just have to organize the ID3 tags.

thats why I rip them as soon as I get them

I gotta fix all my tags as well.
How much space did it take up on the hard drive?
-
damn i have around 500 cd's as well i could rip...some of them were purchased during hiphop fads like no limit that i don't wish to listen to anymore...usually if i want an album i'll download it before i'd take the 5 minutes to find it in my cluttered room haha,

The stuff I ripped was added to the rest of my downloaded music. The total of all the music is about 100gb

I did that with a couple cd's. I knew it would take me like 15 minutes to find it, or 5 min to download it lol. I ripped all my old No Limit cd's. Sometimes it's cool to go back and listen to them. I was listening to the "I'm Bout It" ost yesterday.

I had that for a while, but I'm happy with wmp 11. You can just cut and paste album art, and editing tags is easy as well.

arent Cd files like a WAV files
converting to mp3 would save alot of hard drve space..

Some people bought cd's before they could rip them :P
When I figured out how to rip cd's I ripped all of them. It took me weeks to do it all.

With wmp, it rips them, and converts them to mp3's (or .wma files if you want).

500 CDs in 2 weeks? Damn that's fast. I remember when I ripped and tagged my whole collection a few years ago it took me months and I only had about 300 CDs to do.

This program grabs the album art & tracklisting from amazon and does it with one click. Saves a shitload of time when fucking with alot of music.
