Battlecat hasnt done anything in years

Battlecat hasnt done anything in years
and is FAT
-
Battlecat has been quiet for a minute but cant no one deny the classics that the dude has put out. Even if he doesnt do anything ever again the cat still has plenty of classics to keep him in the top rankings.
-
Battlecat is one of the my favourite producers. What's up with that mixtape he was supposed to release?
-
BATTLECAT IS IN MY OPINION NOT TO BE COMPARED TO DRE OR QUIK, NEITHER ARE DRE OR QUIK TO BE COMPARED TO HIM. THEY HAVE THEIR OWN STYLE
BUT BATTLECAT IS FUCKIN DOPE AND IS A LEGEND. HE STILL MAKES DOPE ASS MUSIQ AND IS JUST UNIQUE, NOBODY DOES IT LIKE HIM. DRE CAN MAKE A TRACK THAT SOUND "COOL" BATTLECAT JUST MAKES YOU GO "WOW WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT" AND IT GIVES YOU A GOOD ASS FEELING.
-
BATTLECAT = DRE = QUIK >>>>> REST OF THE WORLD
everyone gots his personal differentstyle, but the difference for Cat is the visibility
im a collector of his productions and its so hard to find his music.. but im tellin u..damn there is a lot of cat productions that nobody knows
just in 2007-08 he putted out a lot of good muzic
-
Battlecat is sick but not better then quick
-
Battlecat, DJ Quik and have all three produced classic records. We still enjoy them, so why discuss who's better? We all have our favorites, but we wouldn't appreciate them as much if the others weren't around.
-
Battlecat hasnt done anything in years

Hot Box - Bastards Of The Party (feat Snoop Dogg, Eastwood & Chris Starr)
Invinceable - So Loaded
Invinceable - Babygirl

Hot Box - I Am A Gee

J-Ro - It's So Hard (feat BattleCat himself)
Kurupt - Mystic River
Snoop Dogg - Long Gone (feat Denaun Porter)
Soopafly - Smacc Yo Ass
WreckLoose - Callin' Me (Remix) feat Chuck Heat
to name a few..
-
Woaw, BattleCat produced Long Gone? This track is on another level!
To me BC is the one that embodies the best the signature West Coast sound, Sets In The West is easily one of the top produced track ever.
It's sure that Dre, Quik and Cat have different styles and can't be compared, however if I'd to choose between each producers' full discography I'd go for BattleCat all day.
-
I kinda agree that, him and Quik are definitely the best producers to me
but as everybody, we westcoast fans so sure we love Dr. Dre, Fredwreck, Jelly Roll, Daz, Soopafly, QD III, Mike Mosley, E-A-Ski, DJ Khalil, Meech Wells...
-
Battlecat is good no doubt but better then dre?whoever thinks that is fucked in the head.dre has undisputed classics under his belt.people will be listening to the chronic and 2001 forever.battlecat doesn't have that.every time dre drops a beat he has every single person analyze it to death.nobody even checks for battlecat like that.if dr dre produces a song everybody knows it and seeks it out to listen to it.name me one other producer who has that kind of rep?battlecat is a great westcoast producer.dr dre is the greatest producer in the history of rap nobody has his history.

CAT said thanks for the feedback.

CAT said thanks for the feedback.
Thanks for his music!

yea battle kat is dope, but kat needs to expand his horizons and work w/ diffrent artist from diffrent coasts to get his name out there.
-

If know cat tell him to get butch cassidy and snoop and go make some gd''up music cuz thats what we wanna hear but gangsta shit man none of that l.a.x snoop featuring ice cube stuff we want that gangsta shit for the 09.
-
Dre and Quik are the epitome of West Coast production. Battlecat is up there #3 on the best West Coast producers list. All he needs is a classic album produced entirely by him.
He should be a duo with Mel Man cause when they team up its classic. Well they just teamed up once but they should do it again!!!
-
^what song did they team up for?
-
quik is dope
bc is dope
dre is fuckin dope but lately hasnt done much (considerin hes always ranked as the best producer ever)
overall dre >>>>quik & bc
I dont think quik and bc could do what dre can. they can make heat but dre is fire. hes jus a couple degrees above em IMO
theyve all made classics tho
-
from what i know battlecat and mel-man teamed up for "get your walk on" by Xzibit..
track bang's!! ^what song did they team up for?
-
yeah that shit is dope Im guessin x wasnt even expectin that shit to do aswell as it did
we had the world jockin our shit but even more when he dropped that
muffuccaz was c-walkin to that like its nuthin

I'm not gonna say one is better than the other because I love all 3 of them, it just depends on the track we're talking about. Also cat's sound is pretty different in comparison overall to Dre's and Quik's. The one place where I think Dre & Quik are better than Cat is the mixing of a record which definitely changes the outcome of a production. But those 2 are known for being big names in the mixing game and as far as I know Cat isn't. Either way the thing I love about Cat's productions is you can tell that he loves the music he makes and he makes the music he feels like making and isn't influenced by the current sound of hip-hop.
-
BATTLECAT DEF PUTZ IT DOWN NO DOUBT, HES ONE OF THE MANY GREATS 4M THE WEST. HES BEEN A BIG INFLUENCE ON HOW I PRODUCE MY TRAX. 8)
-
None of these guys have done anything big or mind blowing in 2 or 3 years. Lets hope they pick their game up this year!
Quik > Dre > Battlecat, overall. Mainly because Quik is a one man show, while Dre has been very spotty when not working with Storch, or Elizondo or Mel-Man. Battlecat has some tight beats, but his catalog can't compare to the other two. Plus if I'm not mistaken Battlecat has never done an entire album, at least not a major album. Of the stuff released in the last 2 years, I'd put Rick Rock above them all. He's been producing some heat lately.
-
rick rock can make heat and might have made more heat in recent times but he cant touch them three IMO
hes dope but not dre dope, not quik dope or bc dope, not fred dope

Fuck Dre is way 2 overrated. Quik and Battlecat have produced triple the amount of tracks then dre has. Quik has been fallen off with his beats compared to the shit he used to do. Battlecat is amazing. But I'm gonna go with Muggs.
-
I love "Get Your Walk On"
-
One of the best ever no doubt!!! Westcoast Legend!!

Quik and BC Powda are one and two for me.
Recently, I've been bumping:
Let's Go Play (ft. Nate Dogg)
Friday
Neva Change
As If
-
are ya'll serious???!! Dre is severely over-rated and he needs a sidekick to make heat...(anybody notice how his sound changed after Daz or Mel-Man or Scott Scorch stopped working with him?)
... i can make the same argument for Quik (he made his tightest shit with G-1 and Rob Bacon..check the credits...i own all the cds..and again when they left so did the trademark "Quik" sound...listen to his last few albums...production dont hold a candle to the shit he did with G-1)
Battlecat go at his shit solo and drop fuckin' masterpieces...layered, articulately crafted, funk laced treasures that never grow old...i never heard anybody going at Battlecat saying they secretly produed his shit (like Dre and Quik)...not to mention Battlecat has consistantly kept it West Coast meaning no matter who he works with he lacing them with some West Coast G-Shit...whether he doing R&B, Gospel etc...
...this ain't even a contest...Battlecat is the best hands down...fuck whether he did a solo album or not...what the fuck that gotta do with his production skills?!!

Id Have to Say DJ Quik > Battlecat > Cold187um > Dr Dre > Rhythm D
Dj Quik in his prime 1994-2000 Was producing some of the best sounding shit ever. Battlecat STILL got it though after how many years? 16 i think. When i heard Cali was active i was like Dooooopeeee. The I Smooth 7 Album produced by battlecat has some dope joints aswell as Gumbo Roots Which was entirely produced by him (you guys saying he hasnt fully produced an album??). Get Ya walk On = Classic. The stuff he did for tha Eastsidaz was incredibly dope. As far as keeping it westcoast on all his tracks Battlecat got that. His mixtape is droppin soon btw
-

FRED WRECK,not battlecat

Thats the thing!! Battlecat is a fuckin' Westcoast Patriot! I like his style and it is so incredible how he plays the synths and basslines for his production. I think that Battlecat has the flashiest music style in the rap buisness.
The West Coast has the dopest producer. I mean look at Dre, Quik, Battlecat, Fredwreck, Daz, Rhythm D, Soopafly, Ant Banks and so on....The problem is that these producers havent got the interest to make a new "All Eyez On Me" (especially Dre) for the West Coast..... You know, there is no Death Row or Ruthless to pay them rightly

He uses many old school synths used in the old funk songs which i think is tight. DJ Quik also uses them. As for basslines Battlecat got the dopest shit ever
-
cat is definitely one of the best producers on the west. i have to hear somethin' current. the beat on the young maylay mixtape that cat did was sick though.
-

Totally agree.
I can't say he's the best hands down but he's the only one who's keeping it westcoast on every beat he does.
He needs to drop some new shit ASAP.

Plus if I'm not mistaken Battlecat has never done an entire album, at least not a major album.
Domino's first album dude... certified classic. (think AMG did on track tho..)

^what song did they team up for?
'get ya walk on' off of xzibit's restless album.
-
they all dope in their own way but how can you leave cats like muggs, pooh (boogiemen!!), jinx and madlib out the equation??
-

yeah DJ Pooh is dope too !
-
Jinx gets overlooked.I love the shit he did on kuriots against the grain album
-
Battlecat is a good producer, but stop the bullshit
-
i don't know if he is really the best (i think he is) but he is a fuckin genius fashow, thats a fact! his sounds comes from another planet
the FUCKIN SHAME is that we don't know tha half of his productions cause he produce for a lot of underground and upcoming artists, and his best works are still unreleased!!!!! anyway why those major artist dont calls him anymore???? what up wit Snoop, WC, Xzibit, Dpg, etc. ???
-
Battlecat has alot of classic beats
-

:nawty:
lol real talk. battlecat is no where near quik's level quik is out there on mars all by himself i'll even put fredwreck before battlecat...
quik
dr. dre
fredwreck
battlecat
-
fredwreck
dr. dre
jelly roll
bc powda
dj quik
all dope tho
-
Quik is better than battlecat but as far as dr dre no. He relies on too many samples and co-producers/other people helping with his production
-
WC always has had the best producers. Fingazz, Quik, Battlecat, Daz, Ant Banks, Soopafly, Rick Rock, E-A-Ski, Fredwreck, Meech Wells, LT Hutton...shit Terrace Martin bringing heat, J Wells, etc etc
You can go on all day.
Sad thing is, just about all of them IMO make better tracks than Swizz Beats, and look at the shine he gets. (Although Bustas - Touch it, Styles P - Alarm Blaze and Tha Dogg Pounds - Attitude problem are crazy. Give him credit on them 3...even though last 2 are similar.)
Pretty stupid arguing over who is better....Just a matter of opinion.
-
Battlecat has alot of classic beats
he sure does. i can't wait to hear the new shit he did for Jayo Felony.
-
damn battlecat is dope as hell, definitley top 3 or 5 etc.... man the tracks he did on boo ya tribe's album were top notch, it made boo ya sound good as hell, even tho they weak rappers. he gave em some of the best tracks, plus features from kurupt, knocturnal, crooked i, eastwood etc... helped out alot. it was the first and only booya album i bought because of cat producing nearly the whole album. that track he did for spice-1's amerikkkas nightmare is off the hook, i forgot the name of tho but it stays on repeat. man the beats he laced for bookie's "stressin" and vontel "vision of a dream" albums were dope as shit, too bad those albums were highly slept on, and are expensive as hell, (especially bookie's album with 10 battlecat tracks, vontels album you can find em for a decent price, watch out for those japanese reprint bootleg scams). are there any other slept on/underground albums with battle cat productions thats worth copping or d/l?
-
Battlecat is sick but not better then quick
it is than not then
