Title: Kanye talks 808's & Heartbreak+vibe cover

"I DON'T HAVE GREY IN MY BEARD IN REAL LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'M ALL DOWN WITH BEINGS IN MY 30'S BUT DAAAAAAAAMN!!!! THIS IS SOME BENJAMIN BUTTON'S SHIT!"

Kanye on putting out 808’s & Heartbreak so quickly…
“I could have put it out as a mixtape. I always wanted to do a mixtape called T-Pain Style. And I was like, if these songs are good as hell, why not put it out as a real album? And who’s to say what a mixtape , what’s an album. I aint have to drop an album either. What I do at this point is a gift. And I think people are complaining about their gift. They can either play with it or not! But don’t complain to me about the gift. There’s guys out there, nobody spoke on our behalf before. Whatever about the singing. F*ck all the singing, f*ck all the Auto-Tune, f*ck the He’s A Rapper, he’s not a rapper, he’s going through something, he has to get this out of his system, he’s crazy. F*ck all that. It’s men out there who have never had anyone to speak on their behalf about the way they feel in a relationship. We don’t feel like, ‘F*ck you, bitch, I’m going to f*ck a whole bunch of girls’. NO! We feel hurt. We feel pain. Like, ‘Damn, why would you say something like that to me? Damn, I LOVE YOU. Damn, I want to have a family. Damn, I want to find someone to raise my kids. Damn, my baby mama’s a bitch. Or she’s not a bitch’. That more than anything-more than the way I wanted to deliver this art-is the message behind 808’s.”

Ye is the truth.  He keeps expanding his wings as an artists and a human while others like 50 cent resort to the same old tactics - beef.  He's breaking down stereotypes of what BLACK MUSIC, of what AMERICAN MUSIC is.  I'm all for it.  He's ahead of this generations time.

Last time I checked, gifts were free, Yeezy.

I'm all for artists trying new things and expanding their horizons musically, but that doesn't mean the results can't be wack. Which in this case, they were. Wack as hell.

I would've preferred more Hip-Hop. 'Ye did good with the previous records. There wouldn't have been anything wrong dropping another record like the ones before, 'cause 'Ye was among the top dogs of the game with his 3 first records. He sould've easily stayed there with a "safe" Hip-Hop record, but I guess dude's got too much ambition for that.

And alright, if he doesn't wanna do Hip-Hop, that's totally fine. I listen to other stuff too. But I didn't buy 808's 'cause it wasn't Hip-Hop - I didn't buy 808's 'cause it was, simply, a bad record.

It's a shame really, how 'Ye can't admit he might've failed in trying something like this.

guys ego is far too big. i used to really like him but now hes kinda sold out. He came with this whole theme of being a conscious rapper like talib and mos def but now he talks about girls, money and cars just as much as 50/wayne/jay etc do. The only differnece is that he doesnt talk about guns very often...

Just about everyone in this thread is correct in what they're saying. It's new and different, he is going through a bunch of emotions, and whether it's wack or it's good is all a matter of opinion. I like it from a production standpoint, but the amount of quality tracks pales in comparison to his other albums. I wonder how he will bounce back from this, will he return to more hip-hop roots, or will he go into a tailspin?

this album is gettin far too much hate. i personally thought it was pretty dope. hip hop or not, you cant say it was wack if you were listening to it with an open mind. but i guess thats just opinion..

Maybe "Death" took the wrong ONE?
(His Mom's should still be here instead & Kanye could be "LEGEND" he think's he is...)

Cause this 808 album was hot garbage on a 1000 degree day, after someone shitted on it.
