Title: too much for authentic NBA jersey?
Post by: Rick McCrank on January 26, 2009, 03:18:24 AM
after tax and (free) shipping I got an authentic for $173

is that a good deal or are there better out there?  I saw a lot for over $200 so I hope it's fair

It depends on what team's jersey you're getting.  Most NBA teams uniforms are more hideous than MLB's & that's saying something.
Only teams jersey's worth getting.
Pistons white & blue
Nets white & navy
Celtics white & their 3 road jerseys, none of them the throw up jerseys that Russell wore.  I'm referring to the current jerseys & the ones with the gold & black numbers.
Spurs home.
Memphis home & road.
Spazz light blue road alternate.
Heat white
Mavs white & navy.  The silver one's got a bad rap, I saw it in the mall & it looked good.  Just not in the lighting at the Staples Center.
Portland white
Wizards white & old capital blue.  It be cooler if the numbers were the gold copper instead of plain boring white.
Pacers yellow is ok.
Lakers white ok.

huh? you can get authentic jerseys in Cali for 40-60 bux in many places. by authentic, i mean the jerseys with the stitched on numbers. those are pretty much identical to what the players wear.

if you got it for 40-60 its not authentic, its a swingman. authentics typically fallin the 180-200 range.

i really see no major difference between a swingman and an authentic. as long as it aint the jerseys with the numbers painted on.

which is exactly why there's no reason to buy an authentic

there's totally a difference, you guys are retarded

swingmans have letters stitched on but they use weird painted letters that start to fade, they look like they're glued on

authentics are real stitching all around, plus the jersey material is smoother and lighter and doesn't have big mesh holes in it like the swing

Its better to wear purple than the pansy color scheme of royal blue & orange.  Pink & fuschia is a more menacing color scheme than royal blue & orange.

took 3 years to build a contender after the 3peat. pretty good, by my estimation. ya'll wont be contending for a while unless you get some huge free agents/trades/draft picks.

Duncans style wont make him have a huge fall off over the next couple of years, like u see with someone like Shaq or players who rely SO much on their athletisism.  Fundamentals dont disappear with age. Parker has a ton of years left. Only Manu and some role players are fading. We might try and make a big free agent pick up, or just a few good ones. The Spurs have a habit of just putting the right pieces in place.  You guys only became a contender again after a bullshit trade for Gasol. You think Gasol is one of the best big men in the league. If that were true, then youd have to consider that a "huge trade" for u guys.

look dummy. I dont have a problem with you guys becoming a contender because of picking up Gasol. Thats how sports is. My argument was against NIK. He likes to make it seem like its a bad thing if the Spurs shot at winning a championship will be by pulling off a big trade. Thats how the Lakers became contenders again after there post-Shaq fall.  Big trades....big Free Agent pickups...etc, thats what youre SUPPOSED to try and do. NIK likes to make a certain set of standards for other teams....then not keep those same standards for his team lol.

I dont know if u know this, but if u say something enough times....its bound to come true at some point.  You think the Lakers are the top team in the league every year, no matter how shitty you guys are lol. Thats why no one takes your points seriously.  It is possible to be a fan, and to be realistic at the same time. You seem to think that being a fan means you ALWAYS think your team is the best.  Yeah, maybe when your 6 yrs old and still think your dad could beat up Superman.  Real fans pull for their team always, but are still realistic. They still hold their TEAM accountable when they suck, not blame others. Youre not a fan man, youre a cheerleader.

4 chips >>> 3 chips even if it is a 3 peat.

not really...everyone knows that a 3peat is way more glorious than winning 4 titles in 4 seperate years...it's also known that the 2nd title is way harder to win on a back-to-back then the first one. end of.

^LOL, exactly...the Lakers have an amazing track record when it comes picking up huge pieces. that's a GOOD thing. our organization never fails. spurs are doomed for mediocrity for the next decade, by my estimation.

fortunately, your estimation is always wrong.  We're supposedly on a down year and still #2 in the West.  You guys sucked. But made some good pickups. What makes you think other teams dont do the same thing? LOL.  You sound retarded.

yea, i sound retarded...because EVERY team has built as many dynasties as the Lakers have. Lakers>Spurs. Lakers future>>>>>Spurs future. The end.

You didnt answer the question. You lose.

Spurs of the last decade> Lakers of the last decade

3peat + winning the west twice > 4 championships, none back-to-back :-*

4 titles + highest winning percentage in sports > 3 peat and nothing else

3peat and nothing else? sorry, but you're starting to sound very moronic now...winning the west 5 out of 10 times is a little more than "nothing else".

Youre not a fan man, youre a cheerleader.

everything you said is inaccurate and that's why I (speak only for yourself, son) don't take YOU seriously. I never claimed the Lakers were the best team in the league up until last year. get your facts straight before you wanna get at me, dawg...PeACe
