Been a long time, used to do this shit every week (quit like 5 or 6 years ago.........OG's might remember). Can't remember who, but in a thread a few weeks ago, someone asked me to bring it back so here it is.
Anyway, my list is below. Let me know yours. I usually check everyones suggestions and hope ya'll do the same
1. Listen Up- EPMD (MAD slept-on, Teddy Riley KILLING it on the talkbox, and that classic back and forth from Erick and Parrish Makin Dollars. Been bumpin this heavy for two months)
2. Yes Sir- Kurupt (one of the few westcoast tracks I have liked recently. What else has dropped that is as dope as this?? To me, its not like this song is classic or anything, but something about it makes me want to play it over and over again)
3. Coffee and Snow- Blue Scholars (too bad peeps sleep on these guys, the most soulful beats and intelligent rhymes in the game right now)
4. All of the Above- Maino ft. T-pain (mad embarrassed about this one as Maino is shit and I usually hate T-pain, but check the song...........mad catchy. SOunds like Just Blaze was going for another Live Ya Life)
5. So Easy REMIX- Red Cafe (Ras Kass fans will recognize the SICK sample. This shit had me from the jump)
6. No Static- Nappy Roots (to me, these guys are criminally slept on, one of my favourite groups. check the sample of Greg Nice from the CLASSIC SONG Sometimes I Rhyme Slow)
Old School cut- Hustling - Smoothe Da Hustla (not true old school, but it came out in 96. tight song)
PEACE

My top 6 recently, in no order:
- Alchemist feat. Twista & Maxwell - Smiling
Smoooooth new single from Alchemist, digging it more every time I hear it.
- Focus feat. Royce Da 5'9", Phonte & Stat Quo - Homage to Premier
Sounds like some classic Premo stuff, except that it's Focus.. complete with the mandatory Jay-Z/50 Cent/Biggie sample & scratches.. Royce, Phonte & Stat all kill it.
- J The S Feat. Saigon & Rich Rivera - Oil
A banging beat with some real subject matter and nice hook, Saigon especially merks it.
- Raekwon Feat. Ghostface & Crooked I - Yes Sir
Surprisingly catchy for a "hood" track like this.. great collabo.
- Raekwon Feat. Ghostface - Criminology 2
Classic RZA-beat, complete with hype Scarface sample, and dope verses from both.
- The Game Ft. Anthony Hamilton - Hustlers Dream
Why this fool prioritize commercial singles on his album, instead of the dope ass leftovers where he flows like crazy ? Blame it on his label, probably.
-
Top 6, no order:
Slaughterhouse - Move On Remix
Raekwon - State Of Grace
Raekwon, Ghost - Criminology 2
Eminem, Dre & 50 - Crack A Bottle
Ea-Ski, Locksmith - IMGMI Introduction

My Top 6 (In no order):
1. U Know by Kurupt (Produced by Terrace Martin): T-mac adds some classic jazzy flavor as Kurupt tongue-twists his way through 3 ill verses. Kurupt flows hard here, I'm really looking forward to more fire this year from him.
2. Killas by Lil' Jon Featuring The Game and Ice Cube: I know I'll get a lot of hate for this, but this track is hard as fuck.
3. My Fault by Eminem: I feel like explaining why I like this track will make me look like an asshole, so I'll let this one stand on it's own.
4. That's Gangsta by Kurupt: Ill track with a haunting beat. Kurupt comes hard as usual.
5. Sunny CA by a bunch of guys: Love the sample and the beat bumps hard, plus everyone drops flames
6. Don't Ya Dare Laugh by B-Real Feat. Young De & Xzibit: Smoke & Mirrors should be sick. I had pretty much forgotten about B-Real, but I'm glad to see he's making moves
-
1. Foesum - Dont Get It Twisted ( Can stop playing this tune. So fucking dope)
2. Lil Half Dead Ft Quik Ta Mac - Still Rollin ( Maad smooth song from a classic album)
3. Jayo Felony - The Loc Is On His Own ( The synth on this one is crazy)
4. Doap Nixon - Everything`s Changing ( Sour Diesel was a realy nice album and this one is hot)
5. Eightball - Down And Out ( Eightball`s voice perfect over this beat, hook also dope)
6. Kokane - Bakin Soda Free ( This has been in top 5 most played on my itunes for 3 months now, why?? you know why)
