Title: B-Real Interview Part 1: "Smoke N' Mirrors"
Post by: Lunatic on February 02, 2009, 12:07:41 PM
Raptalk.Net brings you part one in a two-part B-Real interview series. After nearly 20 years in the game, B-Real has decided to (temporarily) venture away from his Cypress Hill camp to record his debut solo album. The deal came through via Duck Down Records, and "Smoke N' Mirrors" will be released on February 24th. In part one of this interview, the discussion and details are strictly that very solo project, with extreme in-depth.

B-Real talks about how it feels to finally be dropping a solo album and why he made the decision to do so. We also get the meaning behind the title he picked out for his very first project, "Smoke N' Mirrors", what does it all mean? Let B-Real tell you himself!

As mentioned, the album is being released via Duck Down Records, a record company famous for its work with legendary East Coast artists. B-Real talks about releasing the album via a predominantly east coast dominated label, and what exactly is his strategy with this label deal? Again, let B-Real tell you via this interview!

We get a very in-depth look at the guest appearances and how each one of them came about. As most readers and fans must know by now, Xzibit has jumped on the lead single, "Don't Ya Dare Laugh" and B-Real made that very announcement in this interview (damn shame the song leaked before the interview lol).

That very record also features Young De. In case you've been hiding under a rock, Young De is quickly seeming to become a B-Real protege. Read about why B-Real made that decision and loads more regarding the album!

Check back next Monday for part two of the interview, where the discussion is strictly (once again extremely in-depth) regarding Cypress Hill and their upcoming album...

Great interview, damn i fuckin wanna hear that whole album now.

Quote
B-Real: Soopafly I’ve known through the Snoop Dogg camp and everything. I’ve always known that he is a very good producer. I had heard tracks from him and people were telling me “You should go after Soopafly because he has some real great beats right now.” So I gave him a call and he gave me a few beats to choose from. I picked out two that I thought matched up with my album properly. It ended up being two of my strongest songs. I think he’s definitely a slept on producer. If people heard the kind of stuff he was coming with, I think they would be going after his beats all day.

Sounds great. And about "Don't Ya Dare Laugh", they really should've shot a video for the version that's on the album.
