They pulled the 2 year/45 million contract and put this one on the table and a 48 hour window to accept. But theres some rumblings with the Mutts getting there rotation together they may make a run at Manny
-
TBH I think he should take it. Economy looks like it will be even worse next year. 25 mill is second highest in the game right now. Hes a hell of a hitter but Im not sure hes worth that much
-
^with that bad economy, he may want a long-term deal.
-
True, but I just dont see a team willing to go 3 or 4 years at 25 mill a season any more. This year there are just a lot of teams hunkering down. There are some great players still jobless. Abreu, Dunn, Anderson, these dudes arent at Mannys level but they could help for a lot less. I think he should see how things look next year cause its ugly for hm right now. but with Boras you never know ;)
-
this is getting old. sign him this week or move on. thats how i feel, anyway.
-
well that didnt last long..
the couple of months we had with him were amazing..but its time for them to move on. 2 years woth 45M with an option for a 3rd year that woulda raised it to 60M total got laughed at. oh well. time to focus on abreu or dunn.. :'(
Manny Ramirez wasted no time rejecting the Dodgers' latest offer, a one-year, $25-million proposal that was presented Sunday to his agent, Scott Boras.

they do that and you'll be griping all year about how wack the team is
can you imagine having Adam Dunn and Matt Kemp in the same lineup?
Abreu has some pop but what the hell kind of team will it be if he's our guy, give me a break..
they need to just get Manny ---- 1 year, 2 year, 3 year, whatever the fuck they wanna do
he's the best player to be with the franchise in over 10 years, take a chance, without him they're bad
-
i want manny back, as do 99% of fans and most of the players..i know kemp, loney, martin and ethier have all praised him and his attitude. i think his personality fits right in with our younger core. LA is great for him and hes great for LA..but this is taking way too fucking long. this shoulda been handled in December, not dragged out to fucking February..a few days before ST starts.
if it were up to me, i would of offered him 3 guaranteed years..but who knows if he will even accept that...he is dead set on 4 years, and i dont think anyone will give him that. i dont care how good he is, if he is given a four year contract he'll be in his 40s before its done. he'll be taken out of the game in the 7th just like barroids was.
if we dont resign him this week, i have a strong feeling the dodgers will be moving on.
-
Dodger will be very stupid to not re-sign Manny.
-
I'd rather see Dunn + Sheets + Another FA so we can get some offense for more than three years at least.
-
sign em Bombers! 8)

He already rejected their deal..looks like he's not coming back. Wonder who's gonna sign him...

I read the Dodgers will now focus on Dunn, Orlando Hudson, and Randy Wolf. I don't think Sheets will sign with anyone until midseason. Even the Texas Rangers passed on him for a year and they need pitching, so you know his medical report must be fucked up.
-
id love to see nobody sign manny, that would be hillarious

Damn. Well they better pass on Hudson lol

"People expect us to get in on Manny, but it’s not going to happen. We’re in the nonroster invitee mode. He’s a great player, but when you look at our payroll, we’re tapped." - Brian Cashman

They can't cause they bought up the A type free agents. They only had a certain amount. The B type players they can sign. I just read something similar to what was on real gm. This is the part I can remember about it.

They're tryna re-sign Manny but Manny is being a selfish fucking bastard.

You guys have to petition the league if you wanted to sign Manny. You can only sign three type A free agents, unless you lose some type A free agents. Abreau and Giambi were type A free agents but they weren't offered arbitration so it doesn't count. So odds of the Yanks signing Manny are even slimmer now.

we were just "raising the bid" for Boston with Tex, but we know how that ended! 8)
ill take the slim odds! BRING EM ON! 8)

sounds good lol.
i read that the Yankees, Nationals & Mets GM's all said they arent interested.
but when the MLB realizes one of its best hitters in its history doesnt have a team to play for, he will sign somewhere.
as long as Manny stays away from the Yankee competition, im good! 8)

I think Manny just hit rock bottom now since the Nationals don't want him. MLB shoulda just folded the Expos or moved them to Las Vegas or Puerto Rico instead of bringing them to DC where they didn't even support the last 2 teams there. All that whining & crying :'( the media & some people did 2 get a 3rd chance of baseball there they should sell out every single time. No excuses whatsoever, unless a terrorist attack happened on that day. But no, they wasted hundreds of millions of dollars on a cool looking new stadium where they coulda used it for the schools & repair tore up looking neighborhoods & created more jobs :grumpy:
And nobody wants 2 play 4 DC. If those guys felt that DC didn't deserve a 3rd team i'd understand.
Sammy SoSo rejected a $500,000 contract for 1 year with them...after the steroids scandal.
Brian Cashman coulda helped out his own city by joining them but I guess he ioves being unappreciated by the Whinebrenners. Its not like he's Matt Millen, Carl Peterson or Paul Depodipshit.
Mark Texieira coulda joined them for 8 years, $160 million but like the average greedy selfish fat ass American of today...he had 2 have the cake, pie & ice cream & eat them all. Late 90's $17 million a year was still starving, decade later $20 million a year doesn't feed your family. Shame.
And this just in, Anaheim & Texas don't want Manny either. No surprise. Arte Moreno is now acting like the old Angels management, el cheapo. Texas should draft pitching if they ever did that in their history.
-
^they didnt draft pitching, but Nolan Ryan was pretty damn good lol. :P
they could have won a ring, imo, some years back when they had one of the best offences with A-Rod, Pudge (when he was a beast), Palmero & Juan Gonzo!
they score about 6 a night as an average lol, but the pitching gave up 10 so they were always in the cellar lol.
give them a half decent staff & they coulda scrapped out a ring.

Texas will be good in a couple of years, they have the best farm system in baseball. But GayRod and Gonzo never played together.
-
i bet the company that makes those manny dreads is getting pretty anxious right about now. the ceo is probably scheming of a way to tell their kids/grandkids why there will be no christmas this year.

are you sure? i am about 80% sure they were lol.
i played All-Star Baseball 2003 (which was like the 2002 season) on PS2 & i could have sworn they were all on the same team, maybe not lol.
-
My mistake you were right, but they only played together after Gonzo was washed up.

he was washed up, but had some power left in him.
there ace however probably had an ERA of like 4.50 lol.
