Title: Real Hip Hop coming back. Crack A Bottle
Post by: NewYork Pope on February 03, 2009, 01:27:54 PM
Is no 2 on Itunes, Lil Wayne Prom Queen # at this moment and his reviews are 2 1/2 starts, Crack bottle great reviews 4 1/2 stars. Signs real hip hop is back?

I know some of you westcoast cats hate on your own but goes to show these opinions don't matter cause outside of the west people are loving it. NY is killing that song, streets love it and all.

I think that the song is great and is doing great without any real promo. Dre and Em probably leaked it out to see how the response is and if people still have that strong desire for the whole Shady/Aftermath click because they've been away for about 2, 3 years now. You can't really count 50 since he is more of his own brand with his G-Unit label and has always been in the spotlight since 03. Now all they need to do is actually release their fucking albums, sounds crazy don't it ?

track is average. don't get me wrong its cool enough and i bump it but its an extremely lethargic and slow record. em is terrible, dre is cool 50 isn't too bad. just shows you that people are fiending for these dudes to put out some music in '09. nobody is checking for 50 though, his album is gonna flop unless he comes out with a proper hit single. eminem will probably do well regardless and dre the same. i'm starting to become more and more sceptical that detox is gonna be anything close to what the real fans are waiting for. nothing that dre has put out recently has been very classic. some of the lowest quality music of his career actually.

real hip-hop for '09 = slaughterhouse

repping the dying record industry = 50 cent, eminem, dr dre

notice that 'crack a bottle' 'leaked' on the internet and caught a buzz for that reason. this must tell interscope that their normal way of promoting and targeting records is finished. if they can wake up enough and use the web to promote detox properly then that will help it immensely. dre should be hopping on some video blogs and speaking directly to the fans when it's ready to go.

real hip-hop for '09 = slaughterhouse

Wayne should be smacked around for that bullshit.  At least 'Ye came with some quality in his experimentation.  I don't need to tell you that the game has changed.  I bump most of everything 50 has put out.  His material has been consistent throughout his entire career.  The difference now is that the game changed.   I usually don't care if he does numbers (he's hella rich) but I'd like to see him own Wayne and Rick Ross in sales.

Unfortunately it's not that simple...common sense doesn't prevail in this industry ;)
