Big Hutch did the version on Too Gangsta with Face, Crooked I and Treach. Fred Wreck did the one on 2002 with Kurupt, Daz and Crooked. The Fred Wreck version was around the time Suge was going to give Daz his own sublabel, DPG Records, which would have been distributed through Death Row. Crooked I was going to be a artist on that label.

Actually the version that appeared on 2002 was supposed to be released on Too Gangsta For Radio as a Daz solo track - you can still hear Daz screamin' "Too Gangsta For Radio" at the end of the song. But because Daz left Death Row at that time the song was scrapped from TG4R and a new version with Crooked I, Scarface & Treach was made.. But the Fredwreck version appeared later on DPG 2002 album and they didin't even edited it by cutting Daz words from the end...

what about that version that only got kurupt on it? its from fredwrecks greatest hits vol. 1, and is titled 'gangsta rap original version'.
whats the story behind that one? and there's also the other version with tha pound, were crooked i got other lyrics than the 2002 one.
seems like this track has been worked hard on ;D - very dope track(s) indeed! 8)

Yea, I know - there are atleast 5 versions of that track but I think that Daz solo version is the TRUE OG. The version with different Crooked I lyrics was made before the released one - Crook's verse wasen't good enough for him & Suge so he decided to change it and recorded a new one..

I read in some interview that Daz version was supposed to be featured on Too Gangsta For Radio as a lead single but when he left Death Row they decided to scrap it from the album and add some diss songs towards him in exchange. Just listen to the version from Dogg Pound's 2002 - you can clearly hear Daz screaming "Too Gangsta For Radio" at the end of the song - they didn't even edited those words in the released version...
-
Does anyone got all the different versions ?
;D
