But before all that, our very own Sway caught up with T.I. on the Grammy red carpet and asked him to confirm one news item that's been floating in the air: Is Tip, in fact, working with Dr. Dre on Detox?
"You don't have to deny it," Sway offered. "I know you were in the studio working with him."
"I can not confirm or deny any professional affiliation," T.I. said. Sway pressed on and asked if he's recently seen Dr. Dre. T.I. playfully stared off into space and whistled.
"Dr. Dre, he's an outstanding guy," Tip said vaguely. "A little birdie sat on my shoulder and told me that the Detox album is going to be phenomenal."
THIS BETTER BE OVER A WESTCOAST INSTRUMENTAL , NO DIRTY SOUTH BULLSIT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Detox is going to be the biggest pop album of 2009.
Will the next artist on Detox be Britney Spears?
-
haha he can do that on his own time
dretox is westcoast time!!!
muthafuckers have been payin taxes for dretox to drop for years!!!
doubt, highly doubt muthafuckers on the west want to hear t.i./wayne over dre's muzik.

Im a huge Quik fan. But that was the only song on Trauma I didn't like.
-
i loved 'indescritions in the back of the limo' though TI fit perfect over it
-
lol WTF is DETOX turning into????? T.I???
so we can expect T.I, 50, G-unit, R. Kelly, B. Lamont and Em on this?
Fuck that. I'll stay bumpin by 2001.
Detox might end up being the biggest let down in hip hop history
-
haha even before the dinosaurs and aliens or whoever was the first premier in this world
i mean only possible non-rap act that should be on there, i'd say is someone like marsha doin a hook for a tribute to his fallen son.
like he had on 2001
that shit was bangin
but damn I might donate to a fund to not have wayne/t.i. on there

Ehh maybe old T.I. but not the new school T.I.
I don't need to hear the new T.I. spittin' that "revolutionary - dictionary" rhymes.
Who knows though, Dre usually brings out the best in everyone so maybe we'll get something classic.

HELL MUTHAFUCKIN YEAH that song was and still is the shit. Smooth as fuck.
-
ti and doc dre wow this be #1
-
I think Daz and TI vibed well cuz Daz got that southern edge to him, it just made sense.
BTW: Thanks for bringing that track up, that track was getting non-stop rotation when that album dropped.
-
I'm not a T.I fan but that song on Quik album was great ..
-
Every rapper and their mother recorded for Detox. Very few will actually be on the final version. But T.I. is dope if you want some southern flavor on their.
-
you think Dre gives a fuc about this being for the West Coast he wants the best but yet he is NOT getting the best 50,Lil Wayne,TI come on homie miss me on that
-
dre working with alot of niggas on a album that only suppose to have 12 tracks.I think he gonna need more then 12 tracks. But im sure detox a be dope.
-
2 pages so far. We still know literally nothing about this alleged album. Speculation.

It's funny how people tend to foget that Xzibit, Snoop, Ice Cube, Warren G, Kurupt, DJ Quik, Hittman, Nate Dogg, Bishop Lamont, Game.... have all been mentioned for working on Detox at some point yet some spesific people only focus on names like T.I., Diddy, Wayne and Fergie. If you still haven't realized that the whole industry worked on Detox and only a few of them will make the cut, then you are a retard.

^that track is dope lyrically :-\
Lyrics and fitting the beat is two different things ;)
-
T.I. on Detox would be a perfectly reasonable argument not to spend money on that album. Quik made T.I. sound good, but I don't think Dre still has it in him to pull off that kind of stunts.
-
Someone needs to make an interview with Dre about people that have not worked on detox...I bet there is not many.
-
TI on Detox now...........hell yeah
now we got:
TI
Diddy
R Kelly
50
Nas
Jay
Fergie
LIl Wayne
Mary J
5 mic status
-
Oh heckno. not felling this cat. I know people like him but nothing special. He only sounds good on south tracks. His style is generic if you ask me.
Just can't see him on Detox.
If he makes it on Detox, I see myself bumping the instrumental version of the album, especially if he has too many eastcoast artist on there. I expect a Dre album to be westcoast filled (no bias, I'm from & live in NYC).
Hopefully, this end up being one of he shelf track for Detox.
-
I really don't care who's going to be featured on Detox any more.
-
TI on Detox now...........hell yeah
now we got:
TI
Diddy
R Kelly
50
Nas
Jay
Fergie
LIl Wayne
Mary J
5 mic status
with additional production by just blaze, swizz beatz, kanye west, neptunes, *insert any big name producer*,etc.
Dre is such a trend setter now. he doesnt follow whats hot in the industry and paves his own road!!!!!!!!! Dre ur so original now!!!!!
-
As much as I like TI I hope he's not on Detox.
-
even though i would love for detox to be all west coast i wouldn't mind tip being on detox and i hope dre does production on tip's next album.
-
TI on Detox now...........hell yeah
now we got:
TI
Diddy
R Kelly
50
Nas
Jay
Fergie
LIl Wayne
Mary J
5 mic status
Of course 50 will be on there. I think the only one on that list who will end up on the final version is Mary J. Puffy and Lil Wayne on Detox? I just don't see it.

Yup, I dont see how you can be mad at having Mary J on there?
-
too much dre and detox bashing going on in this thread! i think its a bit unfair to say its going to be a corny pop album, that's pretty much impossible. however, our own sources say there is a more pop-friendly version in the pipeline and in all likelyhood there might be one or two feature that the hardcore don't approve of on the final tracklist. nothing too crazy though, should still be bumpin'
how bumpin' it's gonna be (if it comes out) is open for debate. one thing that people don't seem to have considered is that the global recession/depression is set to get much more intense this year and that could potentially put the brakes on the project.
-
TI is dope, but i wanted DETOX to be a westcoast classic album like Dre's 2 previous albums.. But it looks like hes reaching out to every corner of the US..
peace

That doesn't necessarily mean TI would be on the final cut.
Plus if Dre just wants 10-12 tracks...
But maybe he's planning to have 1 song with south dudes, 1 with midwest dudes...
Anyway fuck TI bein' on Detox (i don't even think about Wayne bein' on it, this is disgusting)
-
this forum has so many haters lol
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MeO0g_enzVI ya'll foolz just dont get enough ass
-
Dre is known to bring the best of everyone he works with: this is one of the many reasons he is up there with the best. I wouldn't mind hearin TI do his thing on this one.
-
haha yeah i mean ti's best verse on this still wouldnt fit
50 needs to diss him or some shit and make this t.i./dre collabo not go thru and if that means detox bein delayed for another decade, good shit

who next gorilla zoe puffy all these names floating around
-
you know hes gonna have all the "premier mainstream" rappers in his record to reduce the risk of him flopping, especially with all the compounded pressure that is added every time he stalls on a release date.
i think detox will be a watered down version of what could have been 3-5yrs ago. because of overthinking, creative imagination will be reduced to compensate for the ever increasing decay of music sales.
he should put out 2 cds. one for the mainstream sales, and one underground with just west coast shit. 8)

I wont make judgement til I hear the album. I know the album will be dope regardless of whos on it tho...

Very true, but I'd much rather have them collab on a TI album than Detox.

i agree wit the both of you. t.i.'s already a great emcee...... him over a dre production would be incredible. i hope they've both contributed to each other's upcoming projects.

You're not a true hip hop head if u aint fuckin' wit dem mainstream boyz (wayne, jeezy, cam, ti, luda, gucci, hurricane- except bay bay bay, boosie/webbie/foxx, lil' will, crunchy black, and the list goes on). if u aint down with tha south and still talkin about the West Coast like everybody has to bump they shit and promote em in 2009 then you're not official (especially when you cry about it or blame it on the labels). if u still talkin shit about hip hop fashion (and all u wear is white t's and nikes & hoodies) then you're not official, if you have a problem wit' AutoTune to the point where everytime u hear it you feel compelled to talk shit about it instead of just keepin it to yourself then you're not official. if u think Detox is wack bcuz A-List celebrities are gonna be all over it instead of "Nippsey" Hustle and other WestCoast rookies and vets aren't (besides Jay Rock & MC Ren) then you sure as hell aint official. And last if u think this post is a problem or wack or any other bullshit label u can ponder up then you're are officially an unofficial square and you're not a true hip hop head. real talk
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5ZDtV28UKg
and oh yeah if u still agree with everything the next man or rapper said about something pertaining to whatever or hip hop instead of your true thoughts in 2009 (& from now on - and u kno wat i mean by that) then you're not official, it just proves youre a dick ryder who doesn't have anything to say but the next man's nutts or you're a super impressionable teenager who still gets ass whoopin's by his/her parents.
the boss is done preachin'. u peasant asparagus swallowing dog shit in the yard pickin up ass niggaz can congregate on what to say but it aint fazin me or none of the real peoples on here. we know wassup

This album is making me sick. It's like being in prison .You can see it off in the distance , but just can't get there quick enough.
-
Dre needs to stop surrounding himself with untalented wannabe artists.
-
Dre needs to stop surrounding himself with untalented wannabe artists.
^your mama can suck a dick tho^
but anyways//
If I had a hand in this album, the only artists besides Snoop & Eminem that I want to see on this album would be:
Problem
Jay Rock
Spider
Ice Cube
MC Ren
BG Knocc Out (I know this will never happen though)
Glasses
Game
Bad Lucc
Too $hort
WC
Ca$his
E40
DJ Quik
Eazy E (just not a recycled verse from "hittin' switchez" lol)
B Legit
Rage
RBX http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jgzbdv2Bkrk
Bishop Lamont
Devin The Dude
The Geto Boys
Tech N9ne
Erick Sermon (co-producing)
Dirty Birty
Focus
Lil' Wayne
T.I.
Black Milk
D. Parker
D. Porter
DJ Khalil
Just Blaze
Devin The Dude's production team
Jake One
Dae One
Nate Dogg
Warren G
Tha Dogg Pound (you know Dre will make em tight)
Chuck Inglish (The Cool Kidz) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=trqIxG1FdNo
Chris Brown *i know he wants to sell records but NO "we make the world go round" tracks
T Pain
but anybody would sound vicious over a Dr. Dre beat. but if I had a pot to choose from, it would definatly be these artist. If only 12 or 13 tracks make the album I would definatly choose the obvious guests, chuck inglish, and devin.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jaq4IIqcZWk
but im cool with whoever, i know its gonna bang
