Title: If Nate Robinson Doesn't Win This Dunk Off...
Post by: Lunatic on February 14, 2009, 08:01:12 PM
It's some bullshit! that dunk over DH was CRAZY :o  DH 2nd dunk was CRAP

The judges favored DH from the start; how the fuck his 1st dunk was a 50 :-\

Rudy Fernandez did 2 sick dunks and he got low scores (i understand the low score on the 2nd)

that was pretty fuckin gay in the first round...Rudy shoulda advanced. Pau Gasol just cant do anything right! (LOL). Smith and Fernandez had the best first round imo. The last round was pretty fuckin amazing until that dud dwight dropped at the end though.

If Rudy would have hit that shit on maybe, I dunno, his first 8 fucking tries than yeah he should have advanced.

This. Rudy killed the crowd by attempting it too many times, he had no chance of advancing.

Pau sabotaged him by throwin fucked up passes. Rudy was pretty easily AT LEAST a top 2  dunker in the first round.

Nate Robinson won the dunk contest in 06 after he attempted a dunk like 20 times!!

But don't forget that Nate Robinson's victory was also extremely controversial as he was being shown favoritism the whole time because it's been so long since we seen a short dude in the dunk contest. His 20 something attempts is the reason they even made the timer rule in the first place. When Nate returned (and lost) in 2007, he admitted that he had to do easier dunks because he knew he wasn't going to get the same kind of crowd treatment anymore if he fucked the dunks up.

i have a hard time holding it against him when the attempts were fucked off by the guy not doing the dunking.

Nate deserved it he had consistently the best dunks

The only Dwight one I liked was when he threw it off the side backboard and dunked it that was pretty sick

Id give the edge to a short dunker too though. Dwight Howard is sick, but I always hate seein dudes that are like 6'10" in a dunk competition.  Him dunkin on that 12' rim was cool n all, but that was basically the equivilant to what Nate Robinson was going up against with a 10' rim.  Plus, him jumpin over Howard was sick.

That whole Superman vs Cryptonite shit was also lame imo, the dunk contest needs to be revitalized...I wanna see Lebron, Carter, Iguadala, and Josh Smith next year  8)

I agree with everything u just said lol

I hate seeing tall ass dudes in dunk offs

i didnt think of 12' rim to 10' rim comparison but that is very true..actually Robinson needed to jump higher to dunk 10' than howard does for the 12'

That whole Superman vs Cryptonite shit was also lame imo,

it was so scripted too.  How the fuck did the announcers know IMMEDIATELY that because Nate had lime green shoes....it was supposed to represent Cryptonite?  I seen the shit and was just like, oh...he got green on now.

Itll be wack until some bonified stars step up and do it. Dwight Howard is a star, but thats about it. You need Lebron, Kobe, Carter, etc. Thatll draw some attention.

How so? there's less than  a 2 foot difference between Nate Rob and Dwight.

Anyways, Nate deserved it...the dunk over Dwight was fuckin sick.

This and the MVP voting were scripted, but I don't have a problem with it. They put on a pretty good show, and all of the dunkers were pretty exciting. Rudy's dunk was ill, but he deserved to be docked points for all that time and not picking a better passer. The best part of it is that he hit the dunk right after Kenny Smith and Reggie Miller both said it was impossible for him. I know it got played out and there was a reason for cutting it down to 4, but you think maybe they should go with 6 guys? There's still a lot of players that I would like to see enter the contest.

Nate deserved the win....it would have been dwight if his last dunk wouldn't have been so lame  :-\ the second one was aight, but it looked too easy for him....my favorite was dwight's third dunk, I thought that was sick, also Nate's third was dope....

^^^U serious? You think Dwights last one was tight? It woulda been tight if he was a 6 foot something guard and the FT line dunk hadn't been done 84,986 times before that.

he shoulda done a reverse dunk from the line...or two handed. shit was definitely anti-climatic.
