Eminem, with assists from high-powered pals 50 Cent and Dr. Dre, has landed at No. 1 on the charts—and in the record books—with his latest single, "Crack the Bottle."
The track was (legally) downloaded a record 418,000 times in its first week and easily bounced Kelly Clarkson's "My Life Would Suck Without You" from the top slot on Billboard's Hot 100.
It marks his second No. 1, after 2002's "Lose Yourself." For Dr. Dre and 50 Cent, it's trips three and four, respectively.
"Crack the Bottle" is the buzz single from Em's forthcoming Relapse album, but it's also likely to appear on Fiddy's own Before I Self Destruct, out next month, or Dre's Detox, also expected shortly. ("Crack the Bottle," Relapse, Detox, Before I Self Destruct…we sense a pattern here.)
The "three-headed monster," as Fiddy calls the trio, previously collaborated on 2004's "Encore," the title track from Em's last studio album. Relapse will be Eminem's 5th solo album for Aftermath Entertainment.

They should do the same with Dre & Snoop Dogg...or is Dre so paranoid that he can't release buzz song from his own album?
I wanna see how that would come up (I'm guessing it would be WAAAAAAY lower numbers, do younger people even remember Dre?)
-
Alot of excited kid's waiting on Em.
Congrat's.
(Just hope this pushes Dre, to finish Detox)

You know what is amazing, that this is ALL from an online leak. This was never gonna be a single - the internet forced their hand for sure and look at the result! Incredible to shift over 400,000 downloads in a week

Exactly. And Em still hasn't released a lead single.

imo that track sucks, it just goes to show how many stupid kids there are out there and how they are influenced by big names.

But I'll never believe it didn't happen intentionally.

This just goes to show that America has an obsession with a cross dressing white boy, a snitch, and a played out producer.
-
actually Flo-Rida just broke that record this week

It's nothing amazing but it sounds great compared to the other shit on the radio

yer florida just broke that record. To be honest in the UK this is becoming increasingly more important, first week single sales. I think in the UK the record is about 600,000 in a week.
