This could be big for a couple teams out there looking to make a strong 09 run, but not really looking too deep in the future.
The first teanms that pop in my head for Jeff to go to are Jets, Chiefs, Vikes, Bears, or back to the Niners. I don't think he'd want to be back in Detroit.
I think the Vikings right now with Garcia would be the most dangerous and clear favorite for that division next year. If Warner leaves and the Niners take him they should be playoff bound too. Not sure how much he'd help the Bears offense but I'd still take him over Orton.

Garcia is a solid starter and really hasnt got the props he's earned. hopefully he can find the right situation.

i can see the chiefs foolishly picking mark sanchez and get garcia to help him.

may not be a bad idea...he did say he doesnt need to be the man. but i thought KC was sold on Croyle or whatever his name is....

Garcia's one of those guys that'll never blow anyone away but is always a solid starter, hopefully he finds a good spot.

I think that ship has sailed. Croyle has gotten injured every year, Thigpen outplayed him by a leaps and bounds when he took over, and they brought in a new coach and GM that probably want their own QB to put the stamp on their tenure. I think Garcia could be an upgrade for a few teams, Minnesota is a good example, he is better than Frerotte and Jackson.

With their run stopping defense and huge o-line already intact and vet QB who is a gamer like Garcia could make them Superbowl bound. I think this year's Vikings with Garcia could have went to the Superbowl and even won.
