Lakers center Andrew Bynum will miss another six to ten weeks because of a torn medial collateral ligament in his right knee.
Los Angeles has been without Bynum for seven games already, and will have to rely on Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom if they want to upend the Celtics and Cavaliers for the NBA's best record.
Six weeks from Tuesday would mean Bynum could return as early as March 31, but ten weeks would push him back to April 28, when the postseason will have already begun.
Hope he comes back strong but this is starting to sound like last year. I wish him a speedy recovery.

he's done for the year i bet

it's still the same timetable to a degree
this happened 2 1/2 weeks ago
so that would turn the original outlook from 8-12 weeks to 9-13 weeks
-
god dammit!! >:(
-
wow saw this coming
lakers been playing great ball since hes been out tho, Lamar has been on a tear!
-
lakers are very defensive right now, watch em pla hard the next few weeks and fizzle out in the playoffs vs the Spurs
-
ummm...this happened about 2 weeks ago, which would mean he's on schedule. the bad news woulda been if the time woulda been extended or remained at 12 weeks. he'll be back for playoffs.
-
a little note in the LA Times today said he's out at least until the end of March, start of April
let's hope that really stands so he can get back in the swing of things in the last stretch of the season

the projected time has been the same since the incident took place...people are makin it seem like something new is being said when the last informal report was published when the injury first took place. there's currently nothing being said about his progress...PeACe
-
not worried
It would be easier with Bynum but the Lakers can still go all the way without him
-
If Kwame made it back last season from this injury, I don't see why Andrew wont
-
HELL BE BACK
DIDNT KNOW OR DOESNT LOOK THAT TALL THO
-
they should just sit bynum out. he's going to come back in the playoffs, all out of sync.. straight non factor come playoff time.

they can't beat the Spurs AND C's w/o bynum
-
^^im pretty sure we just beat boston without bynum...we beat spurs without bynum last year, as well. crackidy crack. comment about nate rob and hedo turkoglu, you douche.

yea...cuz it's better to just have no Bynum at all, right? LMAO
-
regular season g
playoffs are diff

Lakers can still run with the Celtics for the Finals even without Bynum; it makes it all that much harder.
good luck LA.
-
i can see the Lakers taking us to 6 again, maybe they'll lose in 7

yeah, i would favor the Celtics in that series without Bynum; but they should/will give you guys a run for your money.
-
the celtics are worse than they were last year. they get tired too easily and without posey they're missing that x factor that could come in and play mind games with kobe and hit a 3. the only upside they have over last year is that the lakers are horrible defending the 3. allen might have a big series, but the way we play against the c's i can't see us losing again.
-
^Rondo is a much better player though, he will be a huge factor in the series.
it should be one fuckin hell of final (granted they both make it). :P

yes rondo is better, but so i ariza who i think is more of an x factor now that he's discovered his outside shot.
