Title: So I was on vacation...
Post by: Chamillitary Click on February 21, 2009, 12:45:23 PM
drove down to Florida for the week.

my iPod died & then so did my brother's, so i used a back-up SanDisk MP3 player for most of the way back.

it has 3 albums on it, Xzibit's Weapons of Mass Destruction, Kanye's Late Registration & Tony Yayo's Thoughts of A Predicate Felony.

3 albums i havent heard in quite some time.

WOMD has always been a personal classic to me, BUT...

i bumped Late Registration & god damn! that shit was a good ass album that is just so underrated.

i guess it is hiding behind College Dropout & Graduation.

but that album is just sick & his production is awesome.

Yayo's albums was actually good, i heard it before & i thought it was just ehh.

but the production was pretty fuckin sick & Yayo wasnt all that bad.

so yeah, the ride home was actually pretty enjoyable with a Kanye & Tony Yayo album. ;D

Welcome back!  I hate when my ipod dies.   When I go on trips I take it and I don't think it's that important to have until the battery dies and I realize I need those moments in a day to just zone out to my music, lol.  Yeah Late Registration is actually my fav Kanye album.  The production is so grown up and emotional, something I Think he got away from on Graduation.  And College Dropouit was good, but I think he needed to hone his craft more, especially with his lyrics and spitgame.  Which he did with the second one.

I LOVE WOMD, personal classic 2 me (easily).

I think Late Registration is Kanye's worst RAP (get it? fuck that new 1 lol) album, but maybe it needs another spin. Tony Yayo's album had good production but I disagree with you because he was so damn terrible on that album, it's mind-blowing how bad someone can be on their own project. All the good songs are due to guest appearances. Don't believe me? listen to "Drama Setter" such a sick song with an amazing beat and listen to the Yayo verse; it is beyond terrible. "Homicide" may be 1 of the worst songs I have ever heard.

thanks, good to be back lol.

i gave it a quick spin back when it first came out & i thought ehh, its cool, nothing special though. since it was my only means on entertainment i gave it a second chance & it showed up lol.

Gone is probably my favorite song off that album. 8)

but i know what you mean by "grown up & emotional" beats.

songs like Bring Me Down just have such a message, with the beat just alone. what a great album, i am glad i re-stumbled upon it.

I LOVE WOMD, personal classic 2 me (easily).

lol, i think i do agree with you. all the songs i enjoy have at least one feature.

Drama Setter
I Know You Don't Love Me
We Don't Give A Fuck
etc.

but i mean, the production saves him from sounding like the worst of all time.

i did like I'm So High, Live By The Gun, Pimpin' & Curious though...

i dont know, i think your right now that i think of it lolll. ;D :P

I actually bought bootlegs of both Kanye and Yayo's albums on Canal Street in NY like 2 weeks before either dropped lol... I loved Kanye's album, Yayo's album actually had a few tracks I bumped a lot at the time due to the production/features... memories 8)

Damn was actually listening to Kanye and Yayos album the other day, and the beats on Yayos album are fire! Tracks you mentioned are actually all dope, "I Know You Dont love Me" "Drama Setter" and "Live By The Gun" are my 3 favourites from the album, shit gets hated on way too hard!!

And word on "Gone" that tracks dope and Cam kills it, "Drive Slow" is sick aswell. Album gets overlooked hard

mad ironic! :P

Cam does kill it!

my favorite part of the song is when Kanye lets the beat play out & then comes back at the end & just destroys it! 8)

i got one of the new ipod classic 80 gigs, i swear the battery never dies

my iPod lasted me all the way from NY to South Carolina & probably could have made it further if i didnt start changing songs & turning the backlight on (i swear it drains that shit lol).

that MP3 player on the way back up died with like 4 hours left on my trip.

i realized how crucial it is to have some means on musical entertainment in those 4 hours.

the hours fly by when your lost in your music & the 4 i had to deal with without music felt longer than the whole rest of the trip.

on my iPod i bumped "Inverse", they are some TIGHT, dope westcoast duo. <---------HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 8)

Late Registration is Ye's best album. It has no fillers and the skits aren't annoying... College Dropout had one bad track (the one with Luda, I can't think of the name) and annoying skits. Graduation got old too quickly. Let's not talk about his horrible last album :P

That Yayo album had amazing production and great guest features, that IMO, saved his ass on this disc. I was able to tolerate him throughout the album, because the beats/features were top notch.

the two tracks with G-Unit were like vintage G-Unit lol.

50 probably had everything together while Tony was locked up & he set his boy up real nice.
