Because he's popular. Simple as. That's how it works on the internet. Whatever is popular is hated, see when 50 Cent blew up, Dipset, T.I., Game...

You know what it is? He used to be dope, but he fell off amazingly hard over the last years. Only occasionally Lil Wayne drops a good verse, but he releases so many verses... the number of wack verses is uncountable.

500 Degreez was his last good album. Tha Carter had a few nice songs, but his last two releases were crap. Come on now, let's be real for a second. I'm surprised no one called the free post yet, lol.

Step my game up.....hah. I can BARLEY even call myself a Hip-Hop fan anymore...and groups like Dipset are the reason why. Im sure they have some good songs that i would like, but if i want to listen to commercial music i will put on some R&B. Rap is supposed to be real, and right now its the furthest away from real that it has ever been, in my opinion.

I fucc with some older east coast music, but once again, in my opinion, everything coming out these days is straight ASS.

In conclusion, i am a very difficult person to understand. I am 21 years old and i am still learning/trying to understand things about me that i do not know. Ask any artists i have worked with(hard to find those) - Ask my kindergarden teacher - I do not work well with others  ::) My ear for music is.....crazy. My friends actually compare me to Dr Dre a lot (Not in skill level), in the sense that i am a perfectionist. Beats i go over have to be very intricate, no b.s. loops. I released one album when i was 17, and have been working on my next project every since. Growing as an artist and a writer in the meantime. So i can kinda sorta relate to Dre in a way as i have pissed off a lot of fans, but i have never released a garbage CD  ;D. I release music for ME, because it makes ME feel good. I don't do it for fans. And to all the fans of mine that have proved loyal and are still interested, i always hook them up with free CDs of recent shit i have been working on. Its all love baby  :-*

Last thought - Maybe that's why Hip-Hop is so dead to me now? I feel like artists should make music for themselves, not in a cookie cutter format just to get album sales.

Who is yall?

I think I speak for 80-90% of everyone here when I say I only want features that add something special to a song. A hook by a singer (FYI: that is not one from Lil Wayne as a robot) or a dope guest verse that doesn't outshine the original artist's raps.

post Carter II it started & then people found out he kissed Birdman & then he appeared on litterally every other single that came out & now kind of sold out his style from what he was, but i can still bump his shit! 8)

but as much hate as he gets he gets more love; he has probably the biggest fanbase in all of rap & is a contender for biggest in all of music.

If you look at the sheer volume of work he's put out, chances are a person is bound not to like all 3000 songs he did in the last 2 years. That being said, he has some heat, but he also has some really bad work released. I appreciate his non-conformity and desire to try new stuff, however with that avant-gard mentality is the risk of just sounding weird and non listenable. He's hit that mark more than a few times, and to me that's why he annoys some people.

I dislike him because of his extremely annoying voice, his random grunts and noises all over the tracks, and the nonsensical flow..
If he could keep it on his solo albums, it would be alright, but only god knows how many remixes and otherwise dope tracks he ruined throughout the years.

The latest example of such:

Q-Tip Ft. Busta Rhymes, Raekwon & Lil Wayne - Renaissance Rap (Remix)

Pure hiphop for the soul.. with 3 of hiphops finest.. until Wayne comes in and ruins it all..
If anybody made a version with Wayne cut off, holla at yo boy! I'm considering cutting off the mp3 straight after Rae's verse, because the rest is unbearable.

Because he's popular. Simple as. That's how it works on the internet. Whatever is popular is hated, see when 50 Cent blew up, Dipset, T.I., Game...

bullshit. its not because they are popular its because people dont like that bullshit music they make. I dont get a thrill out of listening to underground shit for the sake of it being underground. Hell, I think the vast majority of underground rap is bullshit too. I actually liked 50 Cent at the height of his popularity, but after that his music was just garbage. Dipset has always been corny as fuck, TI was tight on Trap Muzik (which was very popular) then he started making garbage music, Game - see dipset. The logic in your line of "reasoning" just doesnt work. Im sure a lot of MURS fans would love for him to be popular...
