stupidity isn't limited to a certain location.
just take the USA for example: Bush was president for 8 years, need i say more?
that doesn't mean that all inhabitants are stupid though, just look around.

the planet is filled with dumb people, so get it right

It's shocking how many times I read the word 'Eurofags' or 'Eurotrash' here. It's a challenge not to hate Americans for that, I always have to remind me that these people (hopefully) doesn't represent the attitude of the American population. Let's face it, on this forum there's a lot of scum and ignorant people. I've thought more than once to leave this place, I don't think I belong here.

props for your constructive post.
true, it says more about them, than about Europeans.

i think the mentality that i addressed should be paid attention to though, as what i provided in my opening post is just a tiny example of ignorance and it's negative influence on others.

yeah it often goes further than just jokes.
so i totally understand why you feel that you're fighting against the "superiority" mentality.
i don't think these comments are only coming from American posters, but it seems like a lot of times this is the case  :P
though there are plenty of mature American posters on here, so some of them might join the conversation later.

yeah it's sad that it bothers you that much.
i'm glad you're still around though  :)
cause we can't let the scum get away with it.
we need to continue to fight back and conquer the forum.
we have to accept that the staff is a lot more tolerant that we wish,
but this shouldn't stop us.

I dont hate Europeans or anything. But real shit, what is there to feel inferior about?  Think about it, youre comparing an entire continent of different countries to ONE country? I dont look down on other countries, even third world countries. We have enough fucked up shit going on here.  But last time I checked, there wasnt this rush of Americans searching for a way to move to other countries. I cant exactly say Ive ever heard ANYONE in my life tell me...."you know, I really wanna go to Norway". Youd be lying to yourself if you say youve never heard anybody say they wanted to come to America.

i'd think quite possibly certain areas of asia will be the place to be in 5-10 years time. definitely not america or europe.

I dont see it necessarily as an inferiority complex.  Its always more acceptable to poke fun at people who are at the same level as you or higher.  Its acceptable to make fun of the rich guy, but fucked up to make fun of the homeless guy...yah know?  I dont see America or Europe as being better or worse then eachother. So on a forum that is mixed with a lot of Americans and Europeans, its normal to have this kinda back and forth. Throughout this boards history, you know theres been a fair share of American bashing as well.

In this case I'd agree with you. I suppose it's cool to use it here, even if the person is probably not from Europe.
Generally, it's of course sth.different I think that term came up because of the political tensions between the US and some European countries. The US had to take alot of criticism, and since we all live in a 'democracy', the government represents (or is supposed to represent) the country, which means we equalised Bush= America. It was kind of a defense-mechansim to bash Europeans, especially the ridiculous anti-French sentiment
Let's not forget we Europeans have some prejudices too, for example the stereotype that America is a country full of retarded religious rednecks, it's just that I don't read it here very often.
We better forget that shit asap, because America and Europe both need each other and we'll need each other even more in the future. One could argue that this is a small unimportant forum, but even this  can seed  alienation and hate between  people.

I think the whole "euro" hate comes from people on the board that look for the lowest common denomination diss towards people that are very far away from a scene acting like they are from the "hood".  Now there are plenty of places around the world worse than Compton, but it comes off as strange when you read someones "Bl00dz reppin" post and find out they are from Sweden.  Unfortunately some of the U.S. posters don't realize that not all of the posters from others places of the world are like that.  Some of the best info I've seen posted on here came from overseas.  And there are plenty of goofy posters from the US that act like G's and they get dissed by normal posters too!  I think the whole Euro thing is just an easy clown.  Peeps should not take it too serious.

I don't even know why there is a discussion about that ... calling out people based on location is the definition of ignorance ... anyways most of the people acting that way based their opinion on the general thoughts/point of views they heard in the medias but actually have never visited the country in question ...

but that's only a minority  ;)

however, if you want to count the posters that act different from who they really are, or at least make statements while meaning something different, then it gets a lot more complicated.

this board is really the only place that ive ever known that hated on soccer. every1 i know never hated on it or compared it 2 football. totally different sports.

i mean seriously if u consider soccer a sissy sport, might as well consider basketball, baseball and any toher sport that doesnt have as much contact as football. soccer i would think would require more stamina and speed than any of the other sports. ive always liked soccer but its not my fav sport. i always wondered y they hated on it, it seems like they only compare the two sports because soccer is called football to the rest of the world.

I don't think many people "gangbang" in Europe and i dont know why it comes of as a cool thing on this board ???  but in terms of poverty there's a whole lot of countries worse of than America.  I also think Xander and Messi set a bad example for Europeans on this board :D

HipHop is worldwide bitches 8)

this board is really the only place that ive ever known that hated on soccer. every1 i know never hated on it or compared it 2 football. totally different sports.

i mean seriously if u consider soccer a sissy sport, might as well consider basketball, baseball and any toher sport that doesnt have as much contact as football. soccer i would think would require more stamina and speed than any of the other sports. ive always liked soccer but its not my fav sport. i always wondered y they hated on it, it seems like they only compare the two sports because soccer is called football to the rest of the world.

Whats your definition of "hatin" man?  If I think soccer is fuckin wack, that doesnt mean Im "hatin" on it. I aint sittin over here like..."man Ima try and make sure soccer dont blow up in the US". THAT would be hatin. Just like alot of other Americans...I just dont really like the shit. Sometimes I can get into the World Cup just cus its such a big ass event. But for the most part, soccer is just boring as fuck to watch.  Its like if they played Basketball on a HUGE court, where each team only scored 1 or 2 times in a game. You think people would watch Basketball then?  Americans either like a lot of action, or a lot of strategy.  Soccer seems to have little of either. The action is far and few between, and strategy....cmon.

^^c'mon, football has to offer a lot of tactical  depth and action (of course, not always). We both have not enough knowledge to judge about the other sport, football has a depth you guys don't see, and the other way arround. But let's not grab this topic up again ;). I have no problem that you guys don't like football, I respect that your culture has different preferences, as long as you don't say 'soccer is a sport for pussies' I have no problem with you. Of course, the last discussion was started by Sick-Boy and a provocation for you guys, but usually it's the other way arround.  So let's leave it with that and show some respect for each other.

Hey I like the Chronic as much as anybody else but get over it g-funk died along time ago. As an American it can be safe to say that we are a nation of mutts and mostly have ancestors that are rooted in alot of different countries. For instance, I am Irish and live in the Boston area.(Big Surprise) Boondock Saints bitch.

i can't believe how dumb some of y'all are :P
stupidity isn't limited to a certain location.
just take the USA for example: Bush was president for 8 years, need i say more?
that doesn't mean that all inhabitants are stupid though, just look around.

the planet is filled with dumb people, so get it right
Just out of curiousity, what's your definition of dumb?  Because I believe dumb can mean anything.

a few things:

i understand how you can find soccer boring (especially if you don't know much about it), it's similar to europeans saying "(american) football is boring, cause they interrupt the game like every two seconds". it's generally true for most sports that you have to try to get into them a little to find them interesting. when i started realizing american football is not plain boring, i was like 19 yrs old. what i find rather difficult to understand is how basketball fans (of all people) can come up with the "sissie" thing...nobody ever brought up a convincing point to back that one up as far as i remember. crybaby soccer players represent their own weak character, not the game itself.

as for the being-from-the-hood thing, everyone who acts like they're from da hood and isn't deserves ridicule. it doesn't matter if they're from Europe or Wyoming. Also, Europe has its own fair share of crime and shitty neighborhoods, that phenomenon is not exclusive to bloods and crips (which we obviously do not have). and besides, anyone who thinks it's desirable to be from a fucked-up place with a 95% unemployment rate and three murders a day obviously needs to grow the fuck up anyways.

plus i don't think a few jabs are anything bad. as somebody rightly pointed out, someone who's on a similar level can take it (and shoot back). as long as it's a fun rivalry, there's no need to get butthurt. the problem is just that it's usually the mentally challenged net bangers (from Wyoming) who feel entitled to spread serious hate, calling out "eurofags" to make up for arguments they lose against more intelligent people. same with europeans who link some american poster to confederate-flag-wielding rednecks cause it's the only thing they're capable of in a certain situation. cause that's just :spam:

Well, there is obviously a lot more physical contact in Basketball then there is in Soccer. Its just the nature of the sport, size of the players/playing surface, etc. Im not sayin that Basketball players are tougher then Soccer players. They are, but Im not sayin it, you know? lol j/k  But it is true what u say, its all a matter of growing up around and being into the sport.  It goes that way with anything in life, not just sports.

And for the part of your post. Different people, from different cultures and countries always have their own perception of what another country or what people from another country are like.  Like it or not, right or wrong....Americans a lot of times look at Europeans, as pussies.  Like I said, that doesnt mean its true. Its just the way it is. Obviously, shit can happen to you anywhere.  But there are just certain cultures, that dont come across as very intimidating. And Europe seems to have a lot of them. No offense to anyone, but there is absolutely NOTHING intimidating about an English accent lol.

I admit i don't watch a lot of basketball (I do know the basic rules and I'm able to follow a game though), but I'm not so sure about that physical contact thing, my american friend. While I don't see what being physically very tall should have to do with contact, obviously the lack of space will have players touch each other more often, but the kind of contact there is in basketball is usually nothing compared to many situations in soccer. Ever seen two players go up trying to get a header and hitting each other's head? Someone slide-tackling another player from behind at full speed? I'm not saying that's the great thing about soccer, it's just what discredits that sissie bs talk. and yeah, we seem to agree about the rest.

I know that pussy cliché very well, but that's what it is, a fucking cliché. it would be interesting to look at where it comes from, i don't really think crime rates in major cities can be it, cause that would be a pretty retarded reason to look at the people of a continent as pussies. obviously, there's been some talk about some european countries that were unwilling to join the iraq war, but ironically, most americans oppose that war themselves now. but would you mind explaining why you think "americans a lot of times look at europeans as pussies"? cause maybe you can shed some light on this.

Ive actually watched a fair amount of soccer, considering its not very popular here and you dont see it on tv much other then the Mexican channels.  I just dont see that much physical contact. Yeah there are slide tackles and the occassional header where two players hit heads (which is fuckin hilarious btw).  But more often then not, it seems like most physical contact results in some sort of penalty.  There is a TON of flopping (and I used to think it was bad in the NBA) where players dont even get touched at all, but throw themselves on the ground...rolling around like they just got shot. Its embarassing man lol.  Anyways, to each his own. If youre into soccer, cool.  I can understand why people like it i guess. Just not my thing.

As for the rest. Honestly, I cant tell you WHY people dont consider Europeans to be the hardest muthafuckas on the planet. When you think of Europe, you dont exactly think of countries where life is just hard.  You dont think of ghettos, you dont think of anything like that.  Id be curious to see how many people have ever heard somebody say "be careful with those French muthafuckas, theyre crazy homie" lol. Shit just doesnt happen.

I'm just amazed at the level of ignorance.  There are 2 types of people in the world - positive and negative.  These people exist all over the world.  Attacking someone because they aren't where you are from or look like is old world mentality.

We're all struggling, we're all going thru shit, as soon as everyone realizes that and focuses on that kinship the world will be a much better place.

yeah i guess a lot of people aren't strong enough to take the positive route, so they choose the negative route.
it's stupid, because not only do they mess it up for others, they also mess it up for themselves.

plus i don't think a few jabs are anything bad. as somebody rightly pointed out, someone who's on a similar level can take it (and shoot back). as long as it's a fun rivalry, there's no need to get butthurt. the problem is just that it's usually the mentally challenged net bangers (from Wyoming) who feel entitled to spread serious hate, calling out "eurofags" to make up for arguments they lose against more intelligent people. same with europeans who link some american poster to confederate-flag-wielding rednecks cause it's the only thing they're capable of in a certain situation. cause that's just :spam:

Well, there is obviously a lot more physical contact in Basketball then there is in Soccer. Its just the nature of the sport, size of the players/playing surface, etc. Im not sayin that Basketball players are tougher then Soccer players. They are, but Im not sayin it, you know? lol j/k  But it is true what u say, its all a matter of growing up around and being into the sport.  It goes that way with anything in life, not just sports.

(and as for accents, besides the fact that the british are 60 million out of a three-quarter billion europeans, they have a lot of different accents themselves. most don't sound like family guy's stewie)

Yup, the flopping and diving is embarrassing at some times. Like I said though, that's against the game's rules, but I wouldn't deny it sucks. There are a lot of penalties for many forms of physical contact, still however, many things penalties are given for in basketball are allowed in soccer. well yeah, to each his own.

Shit just doesnt happen.
there are countries where life isn't all that great, but americans (understandably) don't hear about moldova, albania and bulgaria all that often. as for france, that is indeed not the most dangerous country on earth, but any american (or person of any nationality) walking the wrong neighborhood in Paris or Marseille calling out "pussies" will sooner or later be in deep shit :)

The Euros that catch heat are the ones from Sweden who act like they are from Compton.
Only if it were like that. I get all the time that "you are euro, I am american. I don't know how to listen to crappy rap music & I know everything".

Nowadays, whenever I try to enter the football/soccer  thread I get a virus alert.  :-\ Is this a  coincidence or is there a chance that one of you US-guys tries  to mock us?

What would you do if you
knew all of the things we know
Would you stand up for truth
Or would you turn away too?

And then what if you saw
All of the things that's wrong
Would you stand tall and strong?
Or would you turn and walk away...

I think people from England have cool accents, and the only time i make fun of foreigners is when they come to my town and its so obvious that they aren't from here. (90% of the time they are just from out of town and not foreigners anyway  ::) )

As a European (of sorts), I must say many of my fellow continentals don't really help matters with e-banging, 2Pac worshipping and bizarre obsessions with obscure Death Row artists.

That said, there's idiots all over the world as this forum frequently proves ;D

people can hide behind online personalities, so it's hard to say anything about the people behind the screen. only stupid thoughts are worth shooting down.

it's still an American forum and we're 'guests' here.

No this is not an american forum, nima overseer and most of the staff are europeans.
Who is not from europe is a guest here...
It's a forum about the west coast of america,ok,but this don't make it an american forum.
i have no problem with European people . the only European people i have problem with at all are the ones who try & tell americans about america like the know better then an american.you can't know better about america if you are not american & just a fact . so how are you going to tell someone about his culture or the way is it in his culture when you never been real apart of that culture. how is someone from europe going to know more about the west coast then someone from the westcoast or america? they are not & most Europeans on here like they do know more over americans about the west coast when they don't at all & that helps creat the problems. most americans are cool with Europeans until they try & tell americans about their own country .also how are Europeans suppose to know more about hip hop when the whole hip hop culture started on the streets of bronx & new york  & we were told when it was started that hip hop was african american street culture not just music. so please people from europe don't take any offense because it was not ment to be. i just wanted to tell you why americans trip on you & why? how do you know more about culture a person grew up in since the early 80's & have lived longer then you ? you don't & that is point. hip hop is just not music it is culture that has been going on in america since the late 70's & no where else can say that & that is the point.

Why I love US: They got the global-entertainment biz.

Why I hate US: I got 1000's of Iraqis running around in my back yard.

European, but I hate european union.
