Title: The official 2009 NFL Free Agency thread
Post by: DJ SUGAFREE QUIK on February 27, 2009, 03:15:45 AM
Well this is probably the 1st & maybe last time i'll start a NFL related thread.  So I started this up so others can inform everyone else on the free agency signing that started a few hours ago.

And the 1st free agency signing I just found out on Mike & Dyke[Golic]show just now.
Albert Haynesworth signed a 7-year $100 million deal with the Redskins.  Man they sure don't care about the draft.  Looks like they'll win the SB on paper again.  But won't get into the playoffs.  $41 million guranteed.  If he reaches all goals then it will be $115 million.

And MeAngelo Hall resigns with the Skins for a 6-year, $54 million.  That's what overrated CB's get paid now. :D

Synder still hasn't learned his lesson.  I always hated them so good 4 them ;D

Hall played pretty well with the Redskins last year, I'm pretty sure he led the team in picks.  But goddamn, why oh why do they fucking do this?  If Haynesworth pans out we will have the number 1 defense.

Well cause they just as terrible defensively as Etroit.  Never thought of calling them Enver.

And Bart Scott signed with the Jets >:(  At least Ray Lewis didn't sign with them ;D

And Kellen Winslow II is now a Buccaneer.  He needed a fresh start somewhere else anyway.

The Chiefs traded for Dyke Vrabel got him from the Ingratriots.  Still can't stand him.

http://blogs.nfl.com/2009/02/28/chiefs-complete-trade-for-cassel/

The Kansas City Chiefs have found their starting quarterback. NFL Network’s Adam Schefter reports the Chiefs acquired QB Matt Cassel from the New England Patriots in a trade on Saturday.

The teams have agreed on compensation, according to Schefter, but no details of the deal were immediately available.

Cassel was designated as the Patriots’ franchise player on Feb. 5, guaranteeing him $14.65 million next season. The signed tender was officially submitted to the league earlier this week.

Cassel saw the first significant action of his career last season, taking over as the starter for the injured Tom Brady in Week 2 and starting 15 games, completing 63.4 percent of his passes for 3,693 yards and 21 touchdowns with 11 interceptions.

Cassel will see some familiar faces in Kansas City. Schefter also reports Patriots linebacker Mike Vrabel wasin Kansas City on Friday undergoing a physical so that he can then be traded to the Chiefs. Vrabel later confirmed the trade in an email to The Boston Globe. Cassel and Vrabel will be playing for new Chiefs GM Scott Pioli, who was hired in January to oversee the team’s football operations after nine seasons in New England.

49ers sign WR Brandon Jones

lots of $ but i know lots of 49er fans on here - as a Titans fan (Jones' former team) i think is is a good signing for y'all and can't believe we didn't try harder to retain him. Jones has shown lots of potential and can be a great WR. I wish we had him back

we've re-signed Collins, Scaife, Bironas, Fuller
lost Haynesworth, Jones, King :'(

we better sign Nate Washington

^^Looks like you got Nate Washington..Isn't he pretty similar to Brandon Jones though? I have seen him play a lot more than Jones, so I'm not quite sure what we are getting from him.
