about time, but you need to win NOW.
nice deal though, any option?
-
you need to win NOW.

lol, no i am saying, you cant win without Manny in the lineup & you have two years of that or Manny will get bored & most likely not resign lol.

Honestly...you guys could've waited longer and paid him less since no other team cared about Manny lol

no doubt, could have bidded 15 million if you wait 2 weeks.
but i guess its better for the franchise (besides economically).

that's risky though... you lower the price and Manny and Boras get mad
the Dodgers are the only team willing to pay the money originally offered
so it would look stupid if they lowered it to a price that maybe the Giants could afford
and Manny says fuck you and signs with SF or some other team
too much of a gamble.... the Dodgers knew they needed him or there would be grumbling about the season

that would be risking it...the jints could PROBABLY afford that, and if they get him, it woulda been a nightmare.
besides, even if he has a big year, and opts out, we still could resign him.

You're missing my point, guess it's that quality cali education. First of all what do the Mets have to do with this, NOTHING. And all I am saying is, you said nothing good has ever come out of NY. But it took a NY nikka to make the dodgers matter again. Geez before Manny came aboard the only reason the rest of the country gave a shit again about the Dodgers was because of your overrated manager from Brooklyn. Hey even I can admit not everything from NY is great b/c Torre is an overrated bum.
-
you sure i said "nothing" good ever came from NY?
and AGAIN, who gives a flying fuck where hes from? hes repping that LA BLUE, thats all i give a fuck about. i could give two shits where he was born, what school he went to, or where he resides in the offseason.

Manny repping LA blue LMFAO... dude is repping the green lol. Manny would of played for the Nippon ham fighters if the money was right. And LOL @ you being mad it made a New Yorker to make your team relevant again.

I'm talking about the New York vs. California culture/sports thing
there was a dude years ago who was obsessed with saying Cali > NY
and Tommy took it to heart so he likes to bring it up whenever something Cali related pops up
he tries to talk shit and get others to follow suit like you are doing, it's fun to him I guess
I don't think the guy is that much of a dick in reality but around here he seems to like to argue about it like it's an important issue
it's funny though because these guys who like to go on stereotypes have never even been to the places they talk about
I've never been to New York, and it would be like me coming on here and sayin "fuck NY they are a bunch of loud mouth ignorant people etc."
going off stereotypes and acting like it's common knowledge and all that bullshit.... it's that greaseball shit, it gets annoying
I would love to visit New York and the baseball stadiums and shit, I'm sure there are great people, I don't get the geographical rivalries
at least keep it sports related, if anything West & East people should talk about how retarded Southerners are or something haha

Exactly, I've said it time and time again I have no beef with Cali. I just find it funny b/c I said it once NY >>> cali and half the board took it to heart so I ran with it. Though I do agree with that b/c I'm from NY but you guys it's vice versa.

it's about fucking TIME!
NL west is ours...once more 8)

I think the Dodgers fall off and finish in 2nd or 3rd this year, the rotation has too many question marks outside of Billingsley. I think Kershaw will have a good season, but don't think Kuroda, Wolf, and Schmidt are reliable. If the last 2 regain old form when they used to dominate, then they are lights out, but I think those days are gone for them.
As for Manny, I always expected he would stay in LA, they just wanted to drag it out and see if they could snag a better offer.
-
I'm not too worried about the pitching. Every year, we've had questionable 3-5 starters. Most teams have them, I will say though that losing Lowe can be really bad...but Kershaw starting the season as a starter will make up for it. All Wolf needs to do is be an innings eater, being an average pitcher is fine. We'll see how Kuroda will handle his injury. Plus, we'll eventually settle with McDonald most likely as the 5th starter. By midseason, I would put McDonald up a whole lot of other team's 5th Starter.
