Post by: RingMan on March 04, 2009, 01:50:53 PM
K'naan - Troubador - 15,288
Joe Budden - Padded Room - 13,561
B-Real - Smoke N' Mirrors - 3,828

I thought Joe will do more, everybody was saying, that AG shipped 70k copies and all stores had the album sold out...but props to K'naan, he made amazing album and he deserves it

Soundscan does accept online vendors, as long as the product you're selling has a barcode, and the website/company sends the date to them..

So yes, this should include all online sales too..

K'naan had a good album..

FUCK SALES.

You can say fuck sales but this doesn't bode well, if sales are very disappointing, amalgam will distance themselves from budden very quickly and that really would leave his career in tatters.

I disagree.  Joe has a studio, Joe has other ventures where he makes money..  He would release music for free or try to set up an outfit of his own where he can sell..

Budden is the highest draw for A.D. right now, no way they are gonna cut their top act loose..

And even though SALES SHOULDNT MEAN SHIT TO US, that's not THAT bad of a number, considering the economy, the music industry, and the label involved...

Cant say that Buddens album sales surprised me cuz no one I know has heard of the dude... they dont check forums and are just casual rap fans but still he hasnt got much buzz round here... his album was just above average IMO and B Reals album was  alil below average IMO.... But still every mofo I know knows Cypress and B Real so it was his album that surprised me with such bad sales! OUCH
