50 Cent has reportedly been chosen to star in Sylvester Stallone's forthcoming movie, The Expendables, replacing actor Forest Whitaker.
Due to scheduling conflicts, Whitaker was forced to abandom his role, leaving Stallone with an opportunity to cast Fif.
"Trust me, the change of Forest Whitaker to 50 Cent AKA Curtis Jackson is a good one," Stallone wrote in a statement. "Nobody wanted Eric Roberts over Ben Kingsley, but I believe it's a vastly improved cast. The point is, you either believe in me and the project, setting your personal feelings aside, or you take a darker approach, which really serves no purpose since your insight and suggestions and overall are a great thrill for me to behold everyday I sign on." (Press Release)
The film is scheduled to begin filming later this month.
Stallone, who wrote and will direct the film, is starring in the project, which focuses on a group of mercenaries heading to South America to overthrow a ruthless dictator. Jason Statham, Jet Li, Randy Couture, Dolph Lundgren, Eric Roberts, Charisma Carpenter, Steve Austin and Mickey Rourke will also star. Sly's pal Arnold Schwarzenegger will appear in a cameo role. Shooting will begin in Brazil later this month. (All Headline News)
In addition to the forthcoming film, Fif is also slated to co-star in a few other movie projects.
50 Cent has been tagged to star in the upcoming UK film, Dead Man Running, which will be directed by the same man responsible for the highly successful video game, Grand Theft Auto 2. The G-Unit leader has also been chosen to star in director Gela Babluani's upcoming flim 13. Production and release dates for these projects have not yet been disclosed. (SOHH)

Re: 50 Cent Replaces Forest Whitaker In Upcoming Stallone Movie

It seems as if 50 Cent is not “expendable” after all. Sylvester Stallone who just announced last week that the G-Unit rapper would be replacing Forrest Whitaker in his new blockbuster action flick, The Expendables, has recast the role once again.
Ain’t It Cool News, who said Fif would be taking over for Whitaker due to the actor’s scheduling conflicts, now reports that Stallone has switched the muscle bound G-Unit leader for the equally daunting Terry Crews. There’s no word on why Fif was replaced.
Crews is most known for his role as the hardworking father on Chris Rock’s sitcom, Everybody Hates Chris, but the former football player has also starred in a handful of movies including The 6th Day, Street Kings and the forthcoming Terminator Salvation.
The actor will be playing Hale Caesar in The Expendables, a movie about “a team of mercenaries [that] head to South America to overthrow a dictator,” per IMDB.
Scheduled to begin filming on March 28th, the flick will also star such action movie royalty as Arnold Schwarzenegger, Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke, Jason Statham and Jet Li. It is set to hit theaters next year.

A representative for 50 Cent issued a statement Tuesday (March 24) explaining why the MC will not be appearing in Sylvester Stallone's film "The Expendables," just days after the director announced 50 would be replacing Forest Whitaker in the role of Hale Caesar.
While online reports said that 50 had been dropped from the film, the statement says he had to pass on the project due to time constraints.
"50 Cent was offered the role of Hale Caesar in 'The Expendables,' however as he is currently in the process of completing his forthcoming album Before I Self Destruct with Dr. Dre and Eminem," a rep for the MC told MTV News in a statement. "He was unfortunately not able to commit to the project." Stallone reportedly told Ain't It Cool News that former San Diego Charger Terry Crews, who debuted with Arnold Schwarzeneggar in "The 6th Day" and appears in this summer's "Terminator Salvation," will take on the role vacated by 50.
Last week, Stallone took to Ain't It Cool News to defend his choice to cast 50 Cent in the role. The film is reportedly about "a team of mercenaries [that] heads to South America on a mission to overthrow a dictator."
"The anger of the casting of 50 Cent is understandable, but not fair," he told the site, adding that he thought the change would be good. "So, trust me, the change of Forest Whitaker to 50 Cent a.k.a. Curtis Jackson is a good one."
"The Expendables" stars Mickey Rourke, Jason Statham, Jet Li and Stallone himself as Barney "The Schizo" Ross. Lundgren and Arnold Schwarzenegger have also been rumored for roles in the muscle-bound, testosterone-fueled extravaganza. No word yet on who will take over for 50 Cent.
