In a new interview with Warren G, Warren released some new information on his latest album...
He produced the mix tape featuring various artists, "G Files Mix Tape Vol. 1," arriving this spring.
Late last year, he released the song "Crush," recorded with rapper Ray J. "Crush" will be included on an album of new material, called "G Files," dropping in June via TTL/Koch Records.
"It is in the mixing process as we speak," he said. "All the other guys I deal with in the Dogg Pound, all my regular people, will be a part of it."
The album also features a few up-and-coming rappers that G wants to help -- Bad Lucc, Holla, Black Nick, Juney Boy, BJ, and Trevor Westly.
"I want to give them an opportunity to shine and get heard," he said.
G pushed the envelope on a couple of new tunes. In a style of music that relies often on loop tapes and drum machines, he includes one of rock's best beat-keepers -- Travis Barker, formerly of Blink-182.
"It's a track called 'Smoke With Me Tonight' and Travis Barker played the drums on there live. He is tearing it up there, too! And then, I did another song called 'Swagger Rich,' that's more a hip-hop/techno type of feel -- that kind of thing is really different for me, but the song is incredible.
"It's going to be a good record. It's good music. I am very happy about it."

ok, thats interesting.
before he said that no one from the dogg pound family was on it, and now he is saying the opposite.
leave that hiphop/techno track off the album, and on the mixtape
so the mixtape is coming in spring, and the album in june.
well there's just over two months left of spring in cali, so hopefully we'll see that mixtape come out within a month or so time.
thanks for tha info DaGChild +1

IronMike no problem. Your thoughts on Warren's double talk about the Dogg Pound involvement was my question as well. Hopefully they are involved. I'd be surprised if the mix tape ever comes out because wasn't there supposed to a be a In The Mid-Nite Hour mixtape. As far as I know that never came out before the album.
-
i never heard about an "in the mid-nite hour" mixtape, but you're probably right.
personally i would love to see that g-files mixtape come out, just as long as the album dont get pushed back any further.
i really hope this means that he will be gettin the twinz on the album. e-white aswell.

Anyone remember Knoc-Turn'Als song "Come All You"? He was the first nigga to do that gangsta-techno shit (his phrase, not mine).
