I won't give away the ending but they just put one of if not the greatest match in Mania history.
-
All I can say is HOLY SHIT :o
Tops the Iron Man match with Bret Hart/HBK and maybe even the Angle/HBK match at WM 21.
It should of been the main event.

No way the title matches top it.

that was an awesome match, i want to get back into wrestling because of that match.
it's amazing how old both of them are and are still delivering exceptional performances.
-
just tell me who wins, i dont give a fuck lol.
-
anybody have a link for the match?
-
I aint been a fan of wrestlin since 98 as my era was 90-98 but i was givin a link to watch it tonight and damn that taker match was amazin
The triple threat fight wasn't all that though tbh all tho cena pickin both big show and edge up was good
-
im streamin it right now
is it after the triple threat match
Cena/Show/Edge?
-
just tell me who wins, i dont give a fuck lol.
Everyone knew Taker was going to win, it was one of those matches though you have to watch b/c it doesn't matter who won or lost.

YOu missed it already.

i think it replays it after the main event
usually they start it all over again
so ill see it by tonight

They did a damn good job making it look like HBK had a chance though.
When guys like HBK, Taker and Jericho retire, I don't think I can watch wrestling anymore. All the new up and comers can't even tell a fucking story in a match like those guys.

Seriously. If the future is about guys like Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase Jr., I'm going to finally stop watching it unless i have insomnia.

I'd take DiBiase and Rhodes over a talentless fuck like that Jack Swagger dude. The only thing worse than his wrestling is his name.
That's where I blame WWE for ruining wrestling. They have these farm territories that don't teach their wrestlers good ring psychology. They wrestle on PPVs like its an episode of Raw.

I haven't seen this Jack Swagger character; but if Rhodes and DiBiase are better than him, its a very sad future for wrestling.
On a side-noe, I wonder when they're going to call up DH Smith to the main roster.

Before he got called up reports were Cody was great in the ring and a natural at cutting promos. He has been anything but since his call up.

I think the match looked good on a shitty night but I didn't think it was all that great of a match. It had a decent ending I'll give it that because the only time of the night I was drawn in was to wonder whether Taker may actually lose after that Super kick. But other than that I didn't think much of it.
Off the top of my head Wrestlemania matches I liked better
Savage/Steamboat obviously
Austin/Hart
Taker/HHH
Rock/Austin
Hogan/Warriot (say what you will but they practiced hard and put on a show
Savage/Flair
Owen/Bret
Savage/Hogan
HBK/Ramon
Hart/Piper
Angle/Lesnar
Angle/Benoit
HBK/Benoit/HHH
Eddie/Angle
Angle/HBK
-
The reason I rate this match so highly is everyone knew Taker was going to win. But they managed to get fans on edge and actually got you thinking HBK might end the streak. Even the two botches by HBK and Taker looked like they were planned that way. I don't know I can't tell you the last time I marked out during a match like that.

The last time I marked for anything was Hogan/Rock. But that was the little boy in me coming out.
I get what you mean. It had me wondering too, but in the end one great aspect of a pretty good match isn't enough to rank it with the best ever.

You would really put Savage/Hogan above this match ? Don't get me wrong Macho carried Hogan to a good match but the ending killed anything they did during the match. Macho controlled the entire match and out of no where Hogan Hulks up and wins. Thats how all his matches ended back in the day but this instance I think was one of Hogans worst Hulking up moments.
-
We also need to take into account that many of those matches that Shallow listed were when those guys were in their prime. You never know with wrestling, but I think HBK and Taker are past their prime and have seen better days. They still managed to steal the show and the majority of the other matches had guys in their mid to late 20s which is sad IMO.
-
Another thing, enough can not be said about Ricky Steamboat. He wrestled like it was still 1988, if it wasn't for Taker and Michaels, Steamboat would of stolen the show.

i like TNA
the shit they do on there is raw
the younger no named wrestlers are like rey mysterio and they do some good shit
idk why it gets so much hate
its alot better then WWE SOMETIMES

Action wise, it usually is better.
But their storylines are horrible as well as the endings for matches...they tried copying the WWE and losst focus on what they were doing well. That's basically why they get the hate.

It was better than Hogan/Warrior, Hart/Piper, Angle/Benoit never happened one on one, it was better than HBK/Benoit/HHH, and a few other of those matches you mentioned. I think the match being in Texas helped with the crowd, as both are Texas boys, and the build up was almost old school like, so there was a lot going into this match, and both lived up to the hype. Not sure where I'd put it with Rock/Austin 2, Angle/Lesnar, Savage/Flair and the rest, but it was a great match.

They have shitty psychology too. A lot of the young guys just do crazy spots the whole time. I tried to get into TNA, but they make the WWE's pathetic storylines look good.

TNA did everything that WCW and ECW did wrong. ECW was extreme spots, and TNA tries that, but can't get it right, WCW has those big names that even grandmas know, but can't market them, and then they have story lines like they are WWF, but they suck. TNA is like a crash of what went wrong in the 90's, and puts them in a 6 sided ring.

i really dont give a FUCK about any of the things you just mentioned
i watch wrestling to see the matches i could give 2 shits about marketing, story lines, who is fueding with who and what not
the matches are bad ass and the wrestlers are talented thats all that matters to me

To each their own. I'm just saying my opinion, and I am just saying TNA sucks. Outside of Samoa Joe, Sting and Kurt Angle, no one knows how to put on a match with real ring psychology.

Good list.. rock vs austin ( which one) i would take Wm17, Wm15 then there Wm 19 bout.
I think HOgan vs Andre just for the spectacle has ot be mentioned.
Savage Vs dibiase was good too.

holy shit, I am blown away at this match.
Absolutely sick!!!!

Michaels-Taker was crazy and it goes right up there with the best of them. There was never any doubt on my part as far as Taker winning, because if you followed the storyline, HBK week after week kept getting the upper hand. The match speaks for itself but I feel they pushed HBK a little too hard in the angles leading up.
The rest of the card was decent at best, and the Orton-HHH main event had almost zero reaction. No way for the two big title bouts to follow Taker\HBK.

yeah Wrestlemaina was very subpar to me. I thought the Money in the bank was good but should have been longer, and i didnt like the fact that CM Punk won again, they keep trying to push this guy but it doesnt work, hes not a main eventer hes a good IC Champ and they need to realize that...MVP is SOOO over he needs to get the push i def think he should have won, Or Shelton hes the most talented and always puts on great matches i think hes a very good heel. Kane and Mark Henry watered that match down..On another note, HBK Taker was all i thought it would be and more. Steamboat was impressive, but every other match was avg to awful. Good ending in the Triple threat at least. HHH orton was really bad, the crowd was very dead in that one. They should have shown the Unified tag title match that would have been one of the better matches of teh night im sure. Very dissapointed i paid 55.00 for that...

And plus Triple J is on there. Even I stopped watching TNA & I was doing my darndest 2 stay with them. And i've heard they're 4cing Kirk Anal down everyones' throat. I guess a couple of people were right. He is the bald headed Triple Paulitics. I'd rather watch AAA.

I liked that match. It was the power man version of Flair/Steamboat matches. Too bad they didn't milk the matches like NWA did Flair/Steamboat. Have each other go at it a few more times. No, I don't count that WCW debacle.

Taker=GOAT

TNA>>>WWE in every aspect imo. Some of their matches are just incredible, whenever I see someone posting about a recent WWE match being a classic I just chuckle. & If you were a real wrestling fan you'd atleast respect their wrestling. Whoever says the guys in TNA dont know anything about ring psychology are just talking out of their asses & are hating.

yeap cause... wait who is that?? ITS SUICIDE FROM THE TNA IMPACT GAME
that there pretty much killed me liking tna, but i wont deny they have some very good wrestlers
-
^Actually I like the idea of bringing him from the game & he is a great wrestler, just look what this guy did at the Lockdown PPV a few days ago, this dude is fucking crazy:

TNA is under overrated

Sik do you like Batista, Edge and Big Show and Orton
better then the roster in Tna such as Mick Foley, Jeff Jarrett, Sting and Kevin Nash and even Booker?
from now on IMO its TNA>WWE
only reason that i will still watch wwe is of Rey Mysterio being IC
but my opinion is subject to change if WWE gets there shit together
Backlash fuckin sucked

I watched it again and I disliked it even more. Too much brawling. There was next to no "wrestling" on that whole card. I don't even like finishing moves so building drama by kicking out of finishing moves means little to me. Great ending but not that great a match in my opinion.
Taker=GOAT
That's simply retarded.

I'm not taking the side of WWE. They're both bad....really bad. It's just that TNA is even worse.
But I would take Edge and Orton over all those TNA names you listed with the exception of Sting.

Yeah I agree. You give the TNA book to Paul Heyman and Jim Cornette and with in one year it'll be blowing WWE out of the water creatively. Commercially would be a different story. They'd really have to strike lightning with a guy and it would be by accident like all the other mega huge stars in wrestling that created brands, and even then it'd be hard to hold on to the guy after it happened. But TNA could easily become better than WWE.
