GOAT status.
True story.
I was a Griffey maniac back in the day.
"If you don't enjoy baseball, you shouldn't play," Griffey said. "You get into what you do. There's a lot to enjoy here. I enjoy baseball, grew up in this game and can't think of anything else I could be doing where I have this much fun every day."
Also, he tied the record for opening day homers, with frank robinson at 8.

Griffey is the man
such a shame that he got injured so much while on the Reds...
-
I just don't understand why Kenny G went back to them ??? He coulda joined a contender with the Rays especially since he has a home in Mid Florida. And the Mariners don't care about winning. When he was 1st there, all they needed in order to win was some relief pitching cause their bullpen was bullcrap. But they didn't start getting that help after they traded him. Sucks that it didn't work out with the Reds. Why don't these players help them out & have new versions of the Big Red Machine?

nobody probably offered him the money he got in Seattle... who knows

Trust me, its not always worth it, ask Jeff Weaver. He was better in the NL & won a WS with the Cardinals but foolishly rejected a 2 yr. $10 million for a 1 yr. $8 million with the M's even though he sucks balls in the AL, even sucked with the Yankees. No surprise he sucked there too, shouldn't have listened to Borass.
Like that saying goes, take your good fortune as it comes. Don't be greedy.

Or at least not trying hard enough. I have no problem with them being successful. Man I wished they won in 2001. A few years back when they chose 2 not do anything during the trade deadline, Ted Lilly spoke the truth & of course that's a sin in baseball so management suspended him & traded him to enemy Yankees. And of course they said they didn't suspend & trade Lilly because of what he said ::) as if everyone was born yesterday.

Seriously, is there anybody that doesn't like Griffey? He has always been so exiting to watch, but injuries have been an issue for so long. It reminds me of Bo Jackson with chronic injuries instead of a freak injury. So much potential and things just didn't happen the way everybody hoped.
-
i never liked baseball after Griffey Jr. fell off for a while but i guess it looks like he is coming back
idk i havent kept up with baseball since Mark and Sosa had shit on lock
