Nice! Here are some fun facts about that performance and Kershaw in general....
"Baseball-Reference.com tracks all sorts of data going back to 1954, and since then no other 21-year-old pitcher has ever totaled double-digit strikeouts while allowing two or fewer baserunners in a game. And the only pitcher since 1954 to do so before the age of 21 is Kerry Wood, who tossed that ridiculous 20-strikeout one-hitter against the Astros as a 20-year-old in 1998. " from NBC Sports
"They are the first Dodger duo 25 and under to do so since Stan Williams and Sandy Koufax in September 1961." from True Blue L.A. Blog on the back to back 10K plus performances of Chad Billingsley and Clayton Kershaw
"Kershaw now has 119 strikeouts in 119.2 career innings, which works out to 8.95 strikeouts per nine innings. Not bad, right? Here's the complete list of pitchers who've logged at least 100 innings with a higher strikeout rate than Kershaw's current mark through the age of 21:
SO/9
Kerry Wood 12.6
Mark Prior 11.3
Rick Ankiel 10.1
Pedro Martinez 9.9
Oliver Perez 9.8
Tom Griffin 9.6
Balor Moore 9.6
Billy McCool 9.3
Nolan Ryan 9.1
Dwight Gooden 9.0" from NBC Sports
"The kid was spectacular tonight." from Joe Torre
