I have to say I'm quite surprised with their start. But when your bats are hot their hot. They've had the pitching but now they have the hitting.Since cito gaston took over the team the blue jays have had the second best record in league next to only the angels. They have had the best bullpen for a while now and have solid starting pitching even with injuries to two starters. If only Alex rios could turn his game around he looks lost at the plate with no confidence.
-
if by some miracle you guys take the division, i will not be upset lol.

hope they keep it up theres definatly some good talent on the roster Romero looks sick so far and Lind and Snyder look like some killer young players....If Vern and Rios play up to par we should be pretty good
-
^just picked Romero on the fantasy team. 8)

Go Jays, let's take it back to 92 and 93...been a fan since then, i was 10 haha

Yeah I still remember watching Carter hit that home run

Yeah, so far so good this year. I love seeing Romero pitching so well to, very encouraging. I keep hearing conflicting reports on whether Marcum or McGowan will can back or not, but if we can get one of them it would be fantastic. I even expect our great bullpen to get even better if Accardo and Janssen can back on the roster and when League finds some control.
The offense will probably drop off a bit but I did expect it to get better (how could it get worse) than '08 with Hill back and Lind and Snider up for a whole year. If it keeps up, I think can possibly hang around the top of the division for most of the year.

Romero & Lind are killin it

Blue jays have crazy depth at pitching.

Here is some injury updates on some of the Jays' pitchers:
Casey Janssen
- The Jays are targeting a mid-May return, looks like endurance is the only remaining hurdle
- He will begin pitching in the Florida State League this week
- After the FSL stint, he will pitch 'a couple' of games in Las Vegas and return to the Jays if all goes well.
Dustin McGowan
- He's experiencing tightness in his shoulder and not responding to most treatments and they are taking a wait and see approach until the tightness subsides.
- The main problem with him is not pain, but that his full range of motion has not returned yet.
- He is not throwing at all right now, they are doing physical therapy to loosen up the shoulder joint and get the full range of motion back before he throws again.
- They are optimistic he can return before the end of the year if all goes well, but there is a pretty vague timetable. The only thing he said was that they hope to have him throwing on flat ground within 1 month and stressed they WILL NOT rush him back.
Shaun Marcum
- I quote Anthoupoulos "Marcum is doing outstanding, VERY far ahead of schedule. It's almost scary because he is throwing so much. I was talking to the trainers, he might be one of those guys that returns in 10 months.
- Right now he is out for the season but it "Would not shock" the Jays if he was back by the middle of August. They are being extremely careful not to rush him back because of previous examples of players coming back too early.
Jesse Litsch
- After a meeting with Dr. James Andrews, it was simply a muscle strain and Jesse Litsch's throwing program has been accelerated because he has responded extremely well. He is ready to start throwing and the Jays expect him back by the third week of May (in 1 month) barring any setbacks.
It would be great if the Jays could still be in the race come Aug/Sept and Marcum comes back.
Could have a potential pitching staff of:
Halladay
Marcum
Litsch
Purcey
Romero
Frasor
League
Janssen
Accardo
Ryan (lol)
Tallet
Carlson
Downs

What the hell happened to ryan?when he used to sprint in from the bullpen and you couldn't help be pumped up with his high energy.he would just blow through batters. The sprint is gone the confidence and energy are gone.he's a shadow of himself
-
wtf Romero is on the DL too now! (so is Ryan but that might be a good thing)
-
Godamn.the jays can't catch a break.4 of their starting rotation injured and their closer.that's devastating.no team can survive that
-
fuck Ryan, but Romero hurts :'(
-
yeah im realy suprised baout this... but watching the blue jays in skydome is depressing.
-
Why's that?
-
3 weeks into the season and the best record in MLB. Haven't lost a series yet or lost two in a row.
Not bad considering the pitching staff is beat up and two of the best players (Wells and Rios) aren't doing too much.
Let's keep staying strong in the race! (http://images.covers.com/covers/emoticons/an_horse.gif)

Yeah I'm pretty excited about this season so far.I mean imagine how good they would be doing if wells and rios were firing on all cylinders and if they even had half of their pitching staff.I mean 4 of 5 starters injured, two middle relievers and your closer.that's insane.
