Some dude from the net told me that Crooked was offered a contract by Dre but Crooked turned it down because Universal offered him a 2million dollar contract. I know its not true but he said Dre signed Bishop because Crooked I turned him down, can anybody get detail about this?
and is Treacherous owned by Crooked? or does he just own Dynasty?
-
Well Crook had a chance to work with Dre once back in the days but he turned it down cuz he didn't wanna wait for Dre to finish Xzibit's project and Snoop's project. Then recently he said he probably wouldn't be on "Detox" cuz he didn't want to just wait around the studio working for months and possible not make the album. So Crooked I is an idiot and it wouldn't surprise me if this too were true.

yeah gangstaboogy has it right......Crook didn't want to be 4th in line for Interscope/AFtermath projects so he didnt agree and went ot Death Row
-
Crooked I and Dr. Dre wouldn't get shit done.

Co-sign...
But damn, Universal threw him 2 million?
I thought the Universal thing was just a distribution deal for Treacherous Records not for Crooked I the artist. My memory is cloudy from those days though so I might be forgetting something...

I'm pretty sure your source has things mixed up. Crook was offered a deal with Aftermath before signing with Death Row. I don't think Dre offered him a deal recently but I could be wrong. Crooked's "not wanting to wait" was in response to him possibly joining the Detox team. I don't think it was an Aftermath contract offer though. Who knows?

Based on the history of Aftermath Crooked made the right move.

Who knows... Death Row didn't turn out that great either, LOL.
Interesting to think about though.

crooked i would be great on aftermath. they both share a lot in common

or not. Its not like he's gotten anywhere with Death Row or on his own. At least if he'd signed to Aftermath he'd still have a record deal (unless Dre dropped him) and have relationships with some dope producers and some major artists (like Bishop does).

True...
4 years on Aftermath might have been better than 4 years on Death Row, but who knows...

no i think going with Dre would of been a better move
He would of maybr had a part on 2001, could of featured on eminem records and or on 50 cent records.
That would of helped his career a lot more then thr Row.
Look at Xzibit, some might argue that At the speed of life was the shit but to me X realy got hot with REstless and we had the Dr Dre beats and direction.

sitting on the shelf at aftermath>>>>>>>sitting on the shelf at death row

I didnt hear they got 2 million, i heard that there was a budget of 2 million or near 2 million given for Crooked and Dynasty when he signed with Treacherous/Universal but donno what happened with that. It was in 2004, its 2009 now,,

Where are these cats that were on Chronic 2001?
Besides back then it was only logical to stick with Deathrow that had build history where as Aftermath had released one subpar compilation.
It doesn't matter. Crooked-I could have easily released albums but he didn't. A part of me believes he's still holding on into breaking into the mainstream. He needs to move on, feed his fanbase, and then build up. Has he? Sure, he's released Hip-Hop Weeklys which was a classic, innovative idea but it only shows he can rap. Creating a quality song and a bomb album is different . I've read he has recorded at least 6 albums that haven't seen the day of light. Why the fuck is he sitting on them? To die and get a post-humous releases that are poor like Tupac?

Not true. Eminem's debut had already been released.
In hindsight Crook definitely should've gone with Aftermath. He could've been where Game is at right now (except still with dre). IMO The Game shouldn't have been the one to get signed and blow up. He's not a bad rapper, but he's just so.....average.

I agree with this. There's no excuse for him not dropping an album except he believes he will still blow up. At this point in his career its not going to happen. He needs to get his independent game on, and then maybe after he has put out a few albums and moved units on his own he will get a chance to be major.

guess hes the vp or some shit, but i dont think he owns it
but that label aint about shit anyway
i mean how many artists have they even released?

death row was already dead, so i don't see the point of signing to a graveyard.
not to mention the trouble that comes with the label.
also notice that i never said that aftermath was such a great label, but it would have been better for Crooked to sit on the shelf there.
by the way, i don't think any one regretted being on 2001

Damn crooked on some dre beats now that would of been gangsta
