Source: Variety
MacheteWhen Robert Rodriguez announced his Predator remake yesterday, there was also mention of another film, which will be going forward this summer it seems. According to Variety, Rodriguez is setting up his film Machete.
The film will be a full-length version of the trailer that appeared between films during the Grindhouse theatrical run. Rodriguez wrote the feature script and will direct the film alongside Ethan Maniquis, his longtime editor. Danny Trejo will reprise his role from the trailer. The film will follow the title character, an ex-Federale who now hides out as a day laborer after a corrupt politician double-crossed him.
The film is set to go into production this June in Austin, TX.

Just watched that trailer again...hilarious. Also noticed that the priest from the trailer is the same guy who played the bartender in Desperado...
Anyways, good to hear that this project is in its production stages.

Well, i guess you haven't seen so many Tarantino or Rodriguez movies? They both have had Cheech Marin in many of their movies. Same goes for Danny Trejo.
