In my opinion, Giggsy has not played good enough to be POTY, maybe he deserves a place in the team, but that's it. He hasn't even started half of the matches. Now don't get me wrong and start the bashing. He has played good and has been consistent since the early 90s, and the fact that this is his first POTY award is kinda shocking. But in my opinion, Premier League Player of the Year 2009 is Steven Gerrard. He's been amazing.

And the Team of the Year, seems kinda random. Is PFA losing it?

Don't forget that this POTY for the calendar year 2008, so it takes into account the end of last season.

It's also voted for by the players, and Giggsy is and has always been a model professional. Time for him to be recognised IMO.

Team of the year is pretty decent also. No Arsenal players, but half of them were injured towards the end of 2008, otherwise you'd think Adebayor would get in over Anelka.

Alessandro Del Piero

Thought Vidic would win it.

Ridiculous decision.
