Shannon is the 1st PG off the bench ... you're right there are good matchups but Houston is not the type of the team that can give the Lakers pb .... to put the Lakers in trouble you must have athleticism all over the floor , a point guard who is going to the hoop and very physical play inside ... Houston is mostly a jumpshooting , we beat these kind of teams pretty easily ... that's why Denver (or Dallas) wont beat a pb either and there are no major worries about the Cavs either (even if of course it will be harder in the Finals than against the West) ....
Artest on Kobe is not a big deal either , Kobe torched him on many occassions , Battier D on Kobe >>>>>>>>>>> Artest one

He only played 3 minutes but he hit a key 3 pointer to help shift momentum to our side.
Fisher got absolutely shitted on by Brooks. It was brutal. Brown did a decent job, I'm thinking we're going to have to experiment more with Brown against Rockets' starters or extend Farmar's minutes.

It looked like he had his confidence back tonight. As long as he can knock down open 3's, he is a better option than Fisher in this series. Brooks' quickness has given Fisher some problems, and he's really struggling with his shot. A big reason for Brown playing more than Farmar last series was due to Deron Williams' size, Farmar couldn't guard him.

That shit was fuckin crazy, right after we had already gotten Alston slapping Eddie House, we get one of the most bizarre series of events ever.
Odom drives to the basket, gets hit by Scola, and then mouths off to him and walks away laughing. It seems like everything is all good, and then Luke Walton of all people gets into Scola's face about it. Then Sasha Vujacic comes into the mess and Scola finally walks away. Next Rockets' possession, Fish shoulder tackles Scola. I know Scola is notorious for dirty shit, but I don't think he's ever gotten into people's skin like he has today. I was shocked, even though Derek Fisher is always looking out for his team, it was very unlike him to initiate a flagrant like that.
And then in amidst of all this, Von Wafer for whatever reason figured this would be the best time to mouth off to Rick Adelman, and gets sent to the locker room. What the hell was that all about? I think the last 2 minutes of the 3rd quarter must've extended into like 20 minutes.
And of course we had Kobe elbowing Ron Artest, Artest complains to the ref and then storms over to Kobe. The refs begin separating them, Artest threatens Kobe, and then he gets ejected.
This has got to be one of the ugliest, most intense Laker games in a long time.

^ Lakers breezed through the Playoffs last year and then got destroyed by the Celtics who didn't play well throughout the playoffs so you never know. But the Lakers obviously have a LOT of work to do.

Two good things we saw in this game. Pau Gasol exposed a huge mismatch and dominated 4th quarter, even if it was way too late. Hopefully both Phil and Gasol keep this in mind early on next game. And Shannon Brown is sick.
Of course, all of that is cancelled out by the fact that Odom got injured. And Fisher should not play another game in this play-off series, his lateral quickness is completely gone and is useless guarding speedy PG's. Bynum needs to get his fucking head back into the game, he seriously looks like he hates playing for this team.

I'm not surprised that Houston came out strong, it's actually pretty common for a team to step it up when a star player goes down because it seems to rally them. Orlando handled Philly when Dwight Howard was out in Game 6 last series. I was just surprised at how much they dominated and how the Lakers got embarrassed. I don't think the Rockets can sustain that all series, the big men they have now do a good job crashing boards and running the floor, but Yao's post game is a huge factor for their offense. Artest didn't score a lot or shoot that well, but he hit some big shots and spread the ball around good, he played well.
And that Sir Rapes A Lot comment was funny regardless of how dumb you think the rape charge was.

It's just apparent how much harder the Rockets work in this series, and that's why they have been able to push this series to 7 games. I think blaming the refs for a loss when the other team jumped out early and lead wire-to-wire is a weak way to go.

On the other hand, sometimes they start off sluggish and get down, which I can't understand how you can do that in a playoff game. Good series Houston, now we're 1 round away from the Cavs-Lakers/LeBron-Kobe matchup that ESPN & Nike have been shoving in our faces since around the All-Star break.

If the Celtics make it, I would like to see them get swept and think it's a pretty good possibilty. I think the Magic will win tonight though, and I seem them taking it to at least 6 games, Howard can help them control the paint better than most teams against the Cavs, and their shooters should get some decent looks.
