Title: Soccer question
Post by: THERapist Ben on May 06, 2009, 09:50:30 AM
Give the Canadian and Euro's a separate forum for soccer talk. I fucking hate coming to the sports section and  seeing threads "Barcelona vs. Madrid" and whatever fag towns they have. Whose with me?

I don't care much about NBA, baseball and ice hockey, so I'm all for a soccer forum.

Kind of ironic that a Westcoast rap message board should have a forum solely dedicated to a sport that isnt even relevant in the U.S.

UK owners so why not ?

Personally i think its a good idea as i have no interest in the american sports.

I don't really see the extra value of doing this... it's fine as it is imo.

UK owners, so of course the owner can do whatever they want.  But then why make the message board dedicated to American music.  Why should Soccer get its own special little forum while all other sports share one. Particularly....when this board is, for the most part,  dedicated to American culture.

The sports board is only dedicated to whoever makes the most posts of a certain sport.

Mainly because the majority of the football/soccer threads are in the sticky anyway.

But the Sports forum is only one part of the larger WCC forum (WestCoast Connection).  So yes, WCC is dedicated to WestCoast Hip Hop. Not sports

i dont see a problem with Soccer having its own sticky thread. But the thread starter was asking for its own FORUM! LOL.  Like there should be a Westcoast Rap, Outbounds, Keystyle, G-Spot, Train of Thought, Entertainment, Sports, and Soccer forums. LOL Cmon.

of course it shouldnt...if you actually read what the guy wrote i think he wants a seperate thread for canadian "soccer"...last i checked barcelona and real madrid are "soccer" teams

the main problem with this is he's the only person who gives a fuck about canadian "soccer"...hes welcome to start a thread about it...but i couldnt even name a canadian player let alone team and im sure most of the posters here who follow the sport are the same

English motherfucker, do you speak it?

Heres a wee question for you to ponder. How many fans go to the staples center to watch the Lakers? Or how many people from Boston go to watch the Celtics when they play? Now compare those attendances to the population of those 2 huge cities of millions of people.

Now my country has around 5 million people which i think im right in saying is a fraction of the amount of people in LA or Boston, but EVERY WEEK 2 teams from my country attract 60, 000 people. And i dont have the correct figures, but im pretty confident that we are talking about millions of people worldwide watching a team from Scotland. INfact i would be confident in saying more people in the US watch my football team every week rather than the Lakers or the Celtics. My team has supporters clubs in probably every major state in the US, china, japan, dubai, singapore, every state in Australia, most countries in south america and most countries in Europe. And this would be the same for every major football club in the world. Funny, i've never seen a Los Angeles Lakers supporters club anywhere, never seen a group of hundreds, possibly thousands of basketball fans descending on a pub in the middle of the night to watch a game due  to the time difference. I think all you shermans need to face the facts, FOOTBALL will never be replaced as the number one sport. Ever.

Rant over, cant believe i even dignified the typically ignorant yank cunts wi a reply...

College "REAL" football in the states at prominent programs have up to 100,000 ( yes some venues/stadiums) and NFL teams can have a sell out capacity of 60,000 , which they sell out weekly or every home game (see Green Bay Packers) U fail and so does soccer in the states. Yo Mauz, you've probably answered this before, but why do you call it "soccer"?

For two reasons:
1. During my one year stay in the U.S. everyone called it soccer. When I think English, I associate that sport with the word soccer;
2. I dislike British tourists. Whenever a British tourist asks me the way, he sure won't end up at the right place. For me to call soccer football would mean I somehow don't mind being associated with British people. That's like a republican who cheers for a royal family. It just isn't right.

Yes, and the population of the US must be about 300 million people, Scotland's population is 5 million. Surely the big sports crowds in the US shoud completely dwarf that of Scotland...But it doesn't. More than 100, 000 people came to watch my team at one point...In a country of 5 million, in a city of 500K. More than a fifth of the population of a city. Crowds in South America also reach the hundreds of thousands, crowds in Australia (Where football isn't even the 4th biggest sport) reach 70, 000 for big games.

The amount of people who watch the World Cup final is probably the same as the superbowl, the nba finals and the world series put together. No one outside of America gives a fuck about any of your sports, face it.

Again, Football will never be replaced as the number one sport. Ever.

1st off, its called a typo genius.

2nd, do some research....Boston doesnt have a population anywhere NEAR 5 million people lol

3rd, if you want to compare....compare Football to Soccer. Not Basketball. Basketball is played in arenas, not stadiums. An arena typically wont support 60,000 people lol.  Football games and even boring ass baseball typically see anywhere from 50,000 to 70,000 people. Depending on the size of the stadium. For years, the Green Bay packers would sell out their stadium that held 50,000+ people...even though there werent 50,000 people in the town.

4th, by you making it a point that such a tiny country like yours fills up a soccer stadium with ease on every game...really only goes to show that there isnt shit to do in your country.

now go ahead, run along kicking your little ball with your hands in the air like a little sissy bitch...and enjoy the sport that we only find fun at the age of 5.

So many outstanding mongo comments in this thread but I'll just select the few I enjoyed the most.

I consider anyone who calls soccer football an inferior human being, including everyone in Great-Britain 8)

how do u live in a country where prostitution is legal and still be a virgin at 35???...

fuckin euro-fag

First of all. Outstanding. The words "nail" and "head" appeared in my mind straight after reading that. (http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l197/taylorlynnwagner/quotes%20and%20comments/clap-animated-animation-clap-smiley.gif?t=1241922483)

Secondly,
Yo Mauz, you've probably answered this before, but why do you call it "soccer"?

For two reasons:
1. During my one year stay in the U.S. everyone called it soccer. When I think English, I associate that sport with the word soccer;
2. I dislike British tourists. Whenever a British tourist asks me the way, he sure won't end up at the right place. For me to call soccer football would mean I somehow don't mind being associated with British people. That's like a republican who cheers for a royal family. It just isn't right.

And again. Haha. Great to know where the insantity began.

K.Dub - for a guy who is pretty clued up on football why do you often consult someone who clearly has no clue on the matter whatsoever.  Case in point - the cunt calls it "soccer".

Talk about football with people who know football.  Not cunts who have met TQ once and watched 8 mile too many times with dreams of making as the "Great White Dutch Hope".

I think the Brazilians would same the same goes for soccer  :-X

Ever.

A Dutchman calling football soccer  ???

The Dutch speak about Total Football never hear it called total soccer.  The governing body of Dutch football (which AZ are part of) are called the Royal Netherlands Football Association (KNVB - Koninklijke Nederlandse Voetbal Bond)

Where is the soccer in that? Or do they know less than AZ fan on the board

No one said Football is very relevant outside of the US. Baseball is growing more and more each year in other countries (you cant deny that), and Basketball is probably the fastest growing sport (popularitywise) in the world.  Now if Euros dont like American Football.....who gives a shit? lol.  As if my interest, or the U.S.'s interest in Football has anything to do with whether or not you like it.  We simply don't care. Whats funny is that you pretend as if youre part of this worldwide fraternity because the whole WORLD loves Soccer, yet you Euros always seem so insecure about the fact that Americans dont like it.  We couldnt care less that you dont like Football, yet you all seem to be so upset that we dont like Soccer lol.

*on a side note, why is London placing a bid to get the Superbowl played there sometime in the next decade? Kind of wierd that they'd want the "oh so unpopular" NFL to have its Superbowl there lol

I am not a hater. Hating is what you do to people of whom you are envious. I, however, pity you.

And I know your English is barking so you prolly won't follow that.

Like I've said before, I didn't mind AZ until you made everything about them and their minimal success completely unbearable.
