like good albums always have interludes. like eye am running through my collection and eye see that pattern at least for the most part.
-
you and your eye instead of "I"
haha nah jus playin
but yeah i fuckin hate skits, interludes, fuck outta here wit that shit
tryna fill the album to make it seem like you got more traxx or more "bang for your buck" type shit
-
yep.
-
my fave album didnt have any interludes (illmatic)
but all my other faves did lol (chronic, 2001, regulate)
-
I'm not a fan of them but there's no denying that a good majority of the classics include interludes
-
aite a classic is a classic whether it has skits or not but take the skits off and replace them wit traxx imagine how much better the album would be?
IMO it be much better

nah its just something eye noticed. eye like interludes..........eye dont feel cheated with them on an album. something to vibe out to for what 1 min. or so. interludes are usually chill relaxed melodic beats. eye just noticed that

I like the interludes Muggs does. He has some ILL beats he does on them.

doesnt genesis count as a skit type thing. Anyway yer my fav is the one before The Shiznit on doggystyle. and tbh theres soo many quotable lines form doggystyle skits anyway.
I think its cause most classics have a lot of thought put into them and hence the interludes/skits are used to make the album flow better or break up the album unlike how theyre used on albums nowadays (usually some scene from a shoot out or some stupid conversation).

you sure about?

Interlude/skits are a waste of hard drive space, I just delete them from the album and pretend they were never meant to be there. Unless, it's an album where it helps the story like A Prince Among Thieves or Disposable Arts.
-
I feel you. interludes can be anice set-up to a song. I don't know why they get so much hate. I used to dislike them too until I realized they don't really add or take enough away from an album to worry about them.
-
but if you wait a year or 2 years for someone to drop a album and then they do this shit of doin that 12 traxx wit 5 skits?
i mean people have waited 2 years and you do a album wit that many skits (on average its 2-3.....up to 4-5 IMO)
so it does ruin it IMO

i wouldnt really count Genesis as a interlude per se.
its really just a replay of Live at the bbq. i would class it as a song as oppose to a proper interlude. but i can see why other ppl wouldnt.
