Yo, whats up with the board? It's moving wayyyyy too slow and shit...Sometimes it even takes me to a CGI Timeout page...I hope it aint gunna be like this forever, cuz if it is, that would really succ...Is there a way we can get it to go faster? cuz there are times it goes so slow that i can't even get into the board...aiight, holla back with an answer...PeACe
-
I second that
-
i agree its slow...was better...but this is better than nothing
-
Another thing I dont like is how after u post, it takes u back to the Forum and not to the Thread u posted in...
-
Yeah, shit is still slow.
-
yeah mine moves slow 2 and also i dont like how u cant post more than 1 post n like 30 seconds
-
I think for a majority of the people it is moving too slow for them Just look at our posts. There really aren't that many. Usually the board is packed with new threads/posts...right now it isn't. Prolly cause people are having trouble. I'm sure it will speed up soon.
-
It was slow earlier for me, But It's fine now. ;D

I don't like this neither?
Could this be changed back, RUD or SEER??

I wish it was fine for me. But I haven't seen an improvement. I got high-speed and everything I click on is slow.

1) CGI Timeout. Impossible there is no CGI involved with the board anymore. Maybe just a normal timeout....
2) How come you ignored what I already told you on other threads?? Apart from the Index the board isn't any slower than before. Sunday nights are always slow. I actually believe its fast everywhere apart from the Index by a long way.
3) The 'going' back to index thing is how the board behaves. I tripped out at first when I saw it doing this when I had a test board running. I just installed a 'Yabbpak' (another new feature) that allows this so this is like WCC used to behave.
4) We can't go back. Anyways.. we were using board software that was no longer maintained, out of date, and was a bandwidth hog.
With this there will be upgrades with new features and bugfixes. (including one to fix the index speed problem). The new board also uses 1/10th the bandwidth the old one did!! This means we're very comfortable hosting wise.

ohh yeah Murrow... I fixed that problem you mentioned in IRC yesterday with the width of the forum.

From A 56k User...
The Index Is Slow As Fuck, Even At Fast Times Its Even Slower For 56kers - But Threads Are Fast At Fast Times (Very Fast)
Note To All Who Have Trouble With Index : There Is A Way To Avoid It - Use The Drop Down Menu At The Bottom Of Every Page To Skip Section To Section - YES Its Awkward Cause You Dont Know Which Sections Have New Shit BUT Use Your Common Sense And Realise Which Forums
A) That You Want To Visit
B) Which Sections Get Posted In Most (General, Outbound, Anything, Sports, HOM & Key Style)
Hope That Helps, Yes The Speed Can Be Annoying But Unfortunately It Cant Be Helped Right Now :-\ Just Keep Persisting And It May Speed Up You Never Know, All New Things Need Wearing In.
-
I'm surprised the index is actually pretty fast here this morning.
ps
The server is located in the US. I think it might be in Missouri.
-
Yea I Gotta Agree, Since I Posted That I Tried The Index And Used It To Do The "Board Rounds" ;D And Ive Finished Already! Was Rapid!! ;)
-
Lately, the forum's been very fast (and I'm even on a 56K modem!).
-
Betta now.
-
Still quite slow for me, the other version was faster for me and i'm on 56k. Oh well, i'll just have to get used to it, i'm just glad this is back up.
Oh, and whats that 'props' & 'diss' thing by everyones names?

It's actually been improving for me.

* Trick for avoiding reloads of the main index multiple times:
I use Netscape, and I just load the forum once.
Then I click the "scroll-button" on the mouse on each part of the forum, and it opens the section in a new window.
When the new section is loaded, I hit the "scroll-button" one time for each thread I want to check. And then just hit the "x" to lock the windows again.
Simple as fuck, and I don't need to reload the same page over and over again..
