LOL

so the NBA is looking for reasons to NOT have the Lakers advance early????

why would they fix it for a team WITHOUT YAO OR T-MAC and who's most marketable star is RON ARTEST?

nik ,just think about it

the NBA gains nothing by making this 7 games other than potentially LOSING lots of revenue by risking the Rockets knocking off the LAkers...last thing in the world they want

considering they have Kobe-LEbron commercials i HIGHLY doubt they're risking anything

maybe to have a game 7 or for betting reasoning...either way, it's to generate more money. why the fuck else?

i dunno WHY they would do it, but they do...it was done against the Lakers in the '07 Suns series and the ref came out about it, so dont act like it's outrageous or somethin.

Give it a rest the game wasn't fixed. This team just has no heart. Cleveland, Boston, or Orlando would've beat the fuck out of Houston (with No McGrady and Yao).

as if Houston is a bad team? theyre playin better without Yao, like they did when they won 22 in a row...dont tell me you didnt see the collection of horrible calls, all of which went against us. the kick-ball that wasn't called on Houston after it was called on us twice was UNBELIEVABLE

not saying we played good, but the momentum keeps stayin in Houstons favor when the refs call it like that. watch how easy we take game 7 and try tellin me it wasnt fixed after that.

We lost because we came out with no intensity ..  very poor decision on offense and get burned again and again on high screen and rolls on D .. this loss , as the 2 others have nothing to do with the refs ... Lakers fans as whole here should be more realistic and be less subjective ... we are in trouble because of lack of focus , inability to learn from mistakes from the past and a BAD BAD Coach ... you have to give credit to Houston aswell

okay...lets say the game wasn't fixed. wasn't the reffing terrible and extremely lopsided? lets just be real here. even though we didnt play our best, does that take away from the fact that the reffing gave us no chance at any momentum? the reffing was horrible, fixed or not.

as a Laker fan I hate these games

but everyone around here knows that I am the one who knows what's up with the Lakers, Spice

I've been sayin the same thing even when they were WINNING.... check my posts back to when the season started

all season whenever I gave em shit for playing like bitches everyone got on me because I didn't want to personally give Farmar a backrub after a bad game

they'll win Game 7 and probably beat Denver, but there's no way they can pull this shit off in the Finals against Cleveland

some of the guys on this team are a complete joke

I dish out the truth on the Lakers, and I still have hope as a fan they can win this year.... but they're not showing me

but.... GO LAKERS!   :P

I noticed a lot of wack calls down the stretch but at that point we were already down by 11-13 points. They would've been bad calls if we were down by 1-4 points but at that point in the game we had already fucked ourselves (no homo). But the calls were even: we took 20 free-throws, they took 22. Take away those extra 2 free throws and we still lose by 13. The ref excuse doesn't cut it tonight. The refs didn't put us in a 1 to 15 deficit. We lost this game because of our silly coach and our soft roster.

LOL. to say that bad calls are only bad when your down small is retarded. bad calls are momentum killers and destroy any chance of a run or spurt...especially on consecutive possessions. in essence, it's not fair to attribute the loss to bad officiating, but the game definitely had a fix feeling the whole way through.

NIK will you ever just admit they fucked up and lost. I'm from Cleveland, and when the Cavs lose I just except it. The Lakers are a great team but their not perfect, even they have off days. In the words of SlaughterHouse "Mother Fucker Move on". (That’s not a diss so don't get all work up)

I love this shit right here!   Keep it coming NIK, you are str8 killin' it with this.  Pure comedy

How about stopping Brooks, learning how to defend a pick and roll, close out on shooters, and OUTWORK the other team.

The ROckets have the worst team in the playoffs on paper, but are playing off pure heart.  Their centre is the same height as your boy Kobe.

Kobe was the only Laker who showed any heart.

Having said all of the above, there is NO WAy the Rockets win on sunday.   But wouldn't it be fucking hilarious!

Um, you realize the Rockets are missing Mutumbo, Yao, and T-Mac.  WHat they are doing is actually incredible.  Even the sorest loser ever would recognize that and give a little bit of props.

The reffing was bad, granted.  But the refs didn't allow the Rockets to start the game with a 21-3 run, did they?

If you cant give props to a team who is undermanned and outgunned, still takin it to your team when your team SHOULD beat them easily, then your pathetic.  Quit making excuses. Like I said, I would still take the Lakers to win game 7. But any real Laker fan would spend more time being upset at the team for not having that "Killer instinct" that you claim Kobe has.

I just love how people act like lopsided reffing is not a common theme in the NBA and fixed games havent been heard of in this league...classic.

everyone who saw the game last night, including the TNT commentators, commented on the poor job of officiating (which went against the Lakers). why does no one have a response for that? all you muthafuckaz can say "SORE LOSER!", "TYPICAL NIK!", etc. etc....same ol' bs...come at me with some real shit. again, I know we played terrible basketball and I AM NOT attributing the way we played to the refs...but it doesnt change the fact that the feel of the game was that of a fixed one...last time I made the claim, many people hopped up on my dick, only for Donaghy to come out the closet a few months later...LOL. I have a good track-record, trust me...PeACe

if the league wanted to a fix a game or series, it wouldnt be this one lol. If the league wants to fix games and series...it would be in the favor of LA. They DEFINETELY want the Lakers in the finals. Not the Nuggets or Rockets. The league wants Lebron vs Kobe, obviously. If you think they will fix games, then understand they will fix them and get you all the way to finals...no doubt.

On a side note, there should not even have been a game 6...When the Lakers were up 2-1 and no Yao, they should have ended it...

as was the Mavs-Heat in 2005

but the Lakers for the longest time had nobody besides Kobe...it wasn't until last year that they were a legit team.

This is ridiculous, and NIK you are pathetic.  Take the L like a man.  The reason the Lakers lost is because the Rockets wanted it more.  There's no conspiracy to keep Kobe and The Lakers away from the championship.  Do you know how big of a market LA is, and how good it is for the NBA financially to have them in the finals?  Kobe is easily the biggest name in the west, they are already doing a bunch of Kobe vs. Lebron ads and shit.  Kobe and Lebron in the finals is the absolute best thing that can happen to the NBA.

If you are blind to those facts and still believe that the league is trying to hold the Lakers down than you really don't understand the business side of the NBA.

yea...and what if the NBA was only doing this to make shit appear as if LeBron and Kobe are on the same level, when in reality, it's clear whos better when they play against eachother. do you realize that this could simply be a build-up to a Kobe-LeBron rivalry? it wouldnt be to hold Kobe back, per se, but rather to even teams and superstars out so that the league can control and regulate rivalries and set shit up, like a Lakers-Cavs Finals and make it appear epic....not saying that's what it is, but why throw it out the window? there's been shady shit in the NBA before, and I just wouldnt be surprised...

with all that said,  Lakers are still takin it this year. 8)

wouldnt 4 game 7's be even better? How come Denver and the Cavs are done with their series? You think the league wouldnt love to have had Lebron on TV today?  The reason that didnt happen is, because the Cavs beat their team in 4....the Lakers couldnt.  Plain and simple.

wouldnt 4 game 7's be even better? How come Denver and the Cavs are done with their series? You think the league wouldnt love to have had Lebron on TV today?  The reason that didnt happen is, because the Cavs beat their team in 4....the Lakers couldnt.  Plain and simple.

building LeBron up and playing Kobe down makes it seem as if theyre on the same level and makes for a stronger interest in rivalry...

LOL

Honestly I don't think that was rigged, Houston played much harder in Game 6 and deserved to win. In basketball, refs always miss at least a couple calls, there's so much going on at such a quick pace, but the more agressive team usually gets rewarded (and should). They missed a few today and made some that I agreed with that my friend was complaining about.

If there was a grand scheme to fix games though, then it would make sense to work in favor of the Rockets for that game only, because a Game 7 Sunday featuring last year's 2 finalists would be exciting, especially since there was a 2 day delay compared to the usual 1 day off. But they could have kicked off the Conference Finals today if the Lakers and Celtics had won in their Game 6's. The other argument was about why would they risk the most popular team losing, but if the league felt they could rig it to force a Game 7, they would rig Game 7 if they needed to. Using that as an excuse is pretty low unless there's an obvious screw-up, and you haven't presented any real evidence, other than the marketing possibilty.

the evidence is how retardedly bias the officiating was. i mean, there was one sequence where Houston blatantly kicked the ball and it wasnt called. now, this wouldnt have been fishy had the Lakers not been called for kickballs in the same exact scenario on not one, but TWO previous possessions.

What a win tonight for the Lakers. Chauncey was out of bounds on that last 3 too. Kobe was so huge down the stretch. Kobe is unreal

the officiating was again horrible in Game 1 vs Denver...almost as if Lakers overcame another fixed game. LOL.

foreal, though, i cant be the only one on this site noticing the horrible discrepancy in officiating that goes against the Lakers...i dunno if it's our attitude as a team that makes the refs hate us or if there's money involved, but there's definitely something there. hell, some dude stopped me at Home Depot today cuz he saw my Laker shirt and started talkin about how horrible the refs were last night...he didnt even talk about the win, just how he cant watch basketball anymore cuz the officiating is so one-sided most the time. :grumpy:

No i agree. My boy is a huge Lakers fan and he was over watching the game and we kept talking about the horrible officiating..I remember 3 times specifically in the first half where chauncey went to the line on 3 AWFUL Calls. One shot Kobe blocked SOOOOOOO clean i was in complete shock when the foul was called...

The officiating is just horrible, period. To present an argument for it being one-sided, you need to point out a couple specific plays that really changed the game, not just one kicked ball they didn't call in a game. As for the series so far against Denver, they have made a lot of bad calls and been too inconsistent, especially between games. They were letting them play earlier in the series, and tonight they were blowing the whistle every possession in the 4th Quarter. They called a bullshit flagrant on Bynum, but also called a bad tech on JR Smith. One thing I will say is that there are several players on the Lakers who complain about almost every call, and that is something that some refs take into account. With all the close calls in basketball, there's going to be fans feeling slighted, but as a neutral observer, I have seen some pretty bad calls.
