The Game recently announced the title of his forthcoming LP, The R.E.D. Album, and explained why he's now looking to touch on topics outside of rap beefs.
In addition to speaking on the project's title, Game promised his focus would remain on the music.
"The R.E.D. Album, people think the R.E.D. stands for gangbanging," he said. "I am what I am. ... R.E.D.? That's rededicated. Rededicated to hip-hop ... to my 'hood, Compton. Rededicated to my family, rededicated to everything...It's a step up...it's a little soulful...I was wondering to myself how I'm gonna elevate myself and even change the field. Three albums, what do you talk about after three albums? I ain't selling crack and gangbanging and shooting sh*t up. My beefs have been down low. So what do you really talk about? I just wanna rap, man. I just wanna do music. Whatever it turns out to be, it turns out to be...I'm just gonna rap this time." (MTV)
The West Coast-bred emcee recently admitted the project was in its early stages.
"I don't really, uh, nothing really," Game said about his album's details earlier this month. "I'm working on album number four, ain't really got no concept or nothin' yet. I'm just startin' it out. I did a couple records in New York that I really like a lot but not 'til I get back to Cali on Monday is when I'm really gonna go in." (Guerrilla Journalism)

That's true and I agree. Hopefully, it'll be dope. I think he has the ability to make a classic in terms of everything - lyrics, flow, vocals, beat, swag. He just hasn't combined them all together on one album track after track.

He just did the "Mafia Music Remix", which is an all out attack on 50, and he didn't diss G-Unit AT ALL. So haa.

I agree. He always delivers dope albums. I just want him to do more songs without name dropping. I don't mind him experimenting more tho, "Touch Down", "Camera Phone", "House of Pain", "Dope Boys" etc were all a lil different but bangin as fuck.

I'm actually kind of disappointed because I would have liked to see the Bishop/Game beef develop further. Bishop hasn't really had that much of a chance to show what he can do in an all out beef.
Game says he'll make an album and not talk about gangbanging...I'll believe it when I see it.

Have any of Game's albums really had any diss tracks on them though? He dissed G-Unit on the mixtapes but once DA dropped, he basically left it at home. There might have been a jab or two at 50 in LAX but nothing that sticks out. Game's decisions tend to be driven by his emotions on that day so we'll see what direction this album goes in. As long as it's a dope album, I could care less about that other shit.

Eh, for every album since The Documentary has been fueled by a promotional truck of beef. Maybe the content wasn't about beef but every interview was about it.

I would think there would be a little more love but I guess that just speaks to the way Westcoast fans act -- bitter and angry. While the South supports Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, T.I., Ludacris, Bow Wow, etc., the West fans can't stop the hate train.

That's cool and all but what other new West Coast emcees have been in the mainstream in the last decade? I've been a fan and supporter of Game since the first time I heard him and I don't see anything in this thread that is damaging to his movement. Telling jokes isn't always hating.

cosign. The south will support anyone, whether they are talented or not. That's why they get no respect from the other coasts. Why should we let an average emcee be the face of the west when there are a bunch of underground west coast rappers who would eat him alive on the mic? I don't hate Game, I like a bunch of his music, but I don't think he's good enough to be representing the west coast. He would get murked if he went up against Nas or Jay-Z.

he is coming with the same shit again; but i do feel this will have more of a Doctor's Advocate feel to it, which is dope because that was a dope album. 8)

Yeah Game has a pretty good formula for making albums. He has the beats down pat, now I would like to see a few less guests on this album.
