Title: If the lakers don't take it all the way, what changes need to be made next year?
Post by: SO PRUP on May 16, 2009, 03:07:55 PM
I might be jumping the gun, but its not looking good for the lakers.  If we get by the rockets can the lakers playing like they are now realistically beat the nuggets and the cavs?  If the worse case scenario happens and we don't win what changes do you think need to be made for next year?

Is Phil Jackson washed up?  Everyone and there momma is saying that Phil Jackson has been coaching bad and looks like he doesn't care anymore.

Is it time for Bynum to go?  Is he not what people are expected, is he a flop or is it still to early to tell?

Is it time for Fisher to retire?  Should Farmaar or Brown be starting?  Or should we try to get someone like Hinrich to run the point?

Is Kobe not capable of leading a team to a championship?  Do the lakers need to try to find someone for the lakers that would make it more like a T-Mac/Artest situation with Gasol at center?

Should the lakers keep Odom or is it time to move in another direction.  Is Odom the XFactor or is he replaceable?

Odom/Gasol/Bynum <--one has to be traded and replaced with a tough presence....one that won't be easily intimidated

yeah well:
bynum:there was all this hype about him and i waited to see if the hype was in his favor, damn hes jus not bringin it and hes been out for a good part of the season

odom:IMO they should keep odom, he can bring good plays and be in favor for the team

fisher:he isnt playin the same as last year or when he was on the jazz, and he was bringin heat then, so i think they should trade him.  member when he was pullin in them 3's like allen and pierce, but damn i mean hes jus been wack.  its been that headband haha

gasol:hes good and helps the team, but im not sure hes in full effect to really help the team.

farmer:is good but looks like hes got practice to get up there and get better, so thats chance they gotta take. hes good tho

and good ol jackson: i mean i think they should keep him, who else could coach a laker team til the end?
its like kobe and jackson are meant to be-no homo

DAMN STILL CANT GET OVER THEIR LOSS LAST, THEY SHOULD HAVE WON THE TITTLE

Yes i do. But we should keep the 4 stars. We need to add/change some role players.

Is Phil Jackson washed up?  Everyone and there momma is saying that Phil Jackson has been coaching bad and looks like he doesn't care anymore.

I ain't impressed by Jackson's job. But you don't change the coach when Jackson is your coach. You go with him till he retires.

Is it time for Bynum to go?  Is he not what people are expected, is he a flop or is it still to early to tell?

It is def still too early, and people should remember he just came out off a pretty hard injury. Anyway he has to step up menthally and he needs to learn how to defend well. Anyway like i said about Phil, you don't trade a young prospect like Bynum. You just don't. We need a defender. Let's just try to get a Millsap/Hayes type of player. A defender/rebounder. We need that kind of player BADLY. Cause Gasol and Bynum just don't defend, and Lamar can't do it all night long all by himself.

Is it time for Fisher to retire?  Should Farmaar or Brown be starting?  Or should we try to get someone like Hinrich to run the point?

Honestly i think it's time for us to get a good PG, if possible. Fisher is a proven veteran, tho. But i'd trade him, if necessary.

Is Kobe not capable of leading a team to a championship?  Do the lakers need to try to find someone for the lakers that would make it more like a T-Mac/Artest situation with Gasol at center?

Kobe needs a Pippen. Gasol isn't. Odom isn't. Bynum isn't. But i wouldn't trade those 4 players. No.

Should the lakers keep Odom or is it time to move in another direction.  Is Odom the XFactor or is he replaceable?

Keep Odom. Damn he's the only one trying to defend!

Lakers attitude wasn't right. Plain and simple. And at those levels you pay it.

like someone said in another thread, kobe is a follower, not a leader

someone needs to run the team better and just hand the ball off to kobe to score

get someone on the court that can lead that team
