Machida knocked the shit out of evans ;D
-
I wonder what Dana White was honestly thinking inside, you know deep down he doesn't want a dude who is constantly being criticized for being "boring" as the champion of the most stacked division in all of MMA.
Personally though I'm happy for him, we all knew this man becoming champ was inevitable within like his 3rd fight in the UFC.

only guy that has a chance is Anderson, he has the length and reach where Machida couldn't just play "catch me if u can" MACHIDA IS SOOO BORING
-
that was very impressive I think Machida will be a good champion, hes going to be tough to beat for awhile.
-
sick shit. gotta give credit to evans for fuckin willing himself to hold on....just got beat by a better fighter that day. he had to get knocked the fuck out to lose. hats off. :pimp:

I duno that should be a better fight IMO, I would give Rampage the edge over Rashad. So I think he will have a better chance vs Machida, altho Machida did look sick lastnight!!

I think the opposite, Im positive Rampage would get beat by Evans. Rampage would get caught quick by Machida, Evans had the best shot to beat him IMO

Great fight, watched it live. I knew machida would take it, but evans had a good chance, I like him as a fighter.
RAMPAGE vs MACHIDA 8)

You would think so because Rashad has a similar style to Machida, but the bottom line is that nobody can use Machida's style better than Machida, which made Rashad doomed from the start.
Rampage is probably gonna use the exact opposite strategy as Rashad, and if Rampage actually tries to use his wrestling (which he hasn't really done since his days of PRIDE), he might put himself in a good position to win.
That being said, my money would still be on Machida, although I'll be rooting for Rampage big time.
-
The thing with this fight. Machida was always moving forward on Rashad. It was Evans backing up all the time. Hopefully Machida destroys Rampage.
Oh and everybody was forgetting that even though Rashad was the champ, he was a 2 to 1 underdog lol. Machida was supposse to win and he did.

is there any talk of a machida v silva fight after machida v rampage?

THERE FUCKIN SHOULD BE. SILVA IS THE ONLY ONE THAT HAS A CHANCE. Unless Fedor loses 28 lbs haha
-
Silva will never fight Machida they got the same manager and train together and have said in the past they won't fight each other, kind of like Jardine and Evans.
IMO Shogun has the best chance at beating Machida out of the current contenders in the division, most well rounded just needs to continue working on getting his cardio back.

thats real, Shogun was a beast back in pride and can be again with the right cardio. maybe Couture goes down to 205? THAT WOULD BE FANTASTIC
-
I think Machida is gonna be tough for anyone to beat. I def see the Spider being the man with the best shot or maybe even Randy if he can take him down if he stands hes be a dead man. I believe the rampage fight will end similar to the Rashad fight but Id be rooting for Jackson. 8)

I agree with all that

Federico Macheda is sik
-
Randy going down to LHW wouldnt happen for a while hes fighting Nogueira in August, I don't see it happening
I think Rampage-Machida would go down a lot like Machida and Rashad unless Rampage uses his wrestling, which is what I was expecting Rashad to do, but like someone said earlier its been a long time since Rampage actually used his wrestling ability.

Randy Couture should just retire after the Nog fight
Dude has been knocked out so many times, its not even funny anymore. LOL @ people thinking he can take Machida at 205. Someone in hsi prime vs a 45 year old has been.
And Rampage is a WAY different fighter than Rashad. Rampage is at least more aggressive ( i believe has more power too). Rampage would push the pace vs Machida.

yes, and it that way he's different than Rashad. However, I believe Rampage would be a MUCH tougher opponent for Macheda than Rashad.
Im hoping Macheda is champ for a long time

Rashad hit Machida about once in the second round. Did almost NOTHING in the first. All Rashad did was back up, bounce left to right, maybe kick or punch the air...and repeat. Watch the fight again and you'll see. Rampage I believe would destroy Rashad in the ring. Greg Jackson has no "game plan" when it comes to knockout power. And lets be honest here. Forrest Griffin was lucky to even hold the belt.
-
yea I really believe Rampage has a much better chance of taking out Machida.
-
Hopefully i just dont see it
-
So it looks like Rashad n Rampage are coaches for the next season of TUF..interesting shit goin down here. I wonder who they'll give Machida in the meantime.
-
yup
jackson will fight evans later in december.

That's going to be after the Rampage vs Machida though, from what I understand.
After the little altercation between Rampage and Evans (after the Rampage vs Jardine fight), they still want to capitalize off of the bad blood, regardless of whether Rampage gets the championship or not. Though if I had to guess, I'm kind of assuming that the UFC doesn't think Rampage is going to have the belt by then.

I doubt it since Dana said shooting starts on June 1st, guess he expected Evans to win lol.

Yeah you're right, I just read up some shit about it. Wow, this is horrible IMO. He's going to make Rampage, one of the best and hottest superstars in the UFC at the moment, wait 8 months until his next fight for a reality show. And this is only a year after they've already made him wait 10 months for the same reality show. Rampage only had 2 fights in 2008, and now thanks to this move, he's only going to have 2 fights in 2009, and that's assuming the fight actually happens at the end of this year.
Everyone already knows Rampage and Evans don't like each other, you don't need to make them coaches for TUF just to prove a point.
Anyways, I heard Machida is going to be defending against Shogun. Even as a hardcore PRIDE fan, I have to say this is a bizarre move. He was horrible in 2 of his 3 UFC fights (including the one he won against Coleman) and knocking out Chuck didn't seem like much of a feat just because Chuck was pretty much done at that point. But then again, at least Shogun LOOKED impressive there, and I guess the most recent fight is the one that really matters. I see Machida being a heavy favorite though.
-
^^Good take. that was on point. Machida seems like hes gonna be tough to figure out for a long time...I dont see Shogun having much luck either
